We've been waiting a long time for Loki season 2, but the series will finally return to Disney+ in October. At the end of the show's first season, the God of Mischief found himself stranded in a timeline where the TVA was ruled over by Kang, though we still don't know which Variant that is or what it means for the wider MCU.
However, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania's post-credits scene saw Loki and Mobius (Earth-616's, we're assuming) in the past and watching on as Kang Variant Victor Timely delivered a speech about time.
Now, The Cosmic Circus has revealed that the scene - which we will revisit in Loki season 2 - takes place during the World's Columbian Exposition, set in 1893, in Chicago.
It's during this event we'll reportedly see a "sizeable" action sequence that features Loki, Mobius, Victor Timely, and Miss Minutes, suggesting the latter's role in assisting these Kangs will be further explored as the Multiverse Saga continues.
The Ferris Wheel showcased back in 1893 will be part of the backdrop for many scenes, while "Victor Timely and his Astounding Emporium Marvels" look set to be front and centre.
However, this is just one of many timelines we'll visit, and the site adds that Loki season 2 "will occur across multiple branched timelines, with some of these timelines taking us somewhere familiar and others diverging into entirely brand-new times and places." Apparently, "each timeline focuses on a new story to tell," so here's hoping it begins making sense of the story Marvel Studios is determined to tell with this ever-expanding Saga.
According to the official synopsis, "Loki Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority."
"Along with Mobius, Hunter B-15, and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes, and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose."
Loki season 2 will premiere on Disney+ this October.
