We're just a couple of days away from Loki's season 2 premiere on Disney+ and a new featurette for the series may have just dropped a major hint about what's to come.
In the standout season 1 finale, Loki and Sylvie made their way to He Who Remains' Citadel at the End of Time. The Kang Variant hoped they might take his place after he'd grown bored with spending countless aeons protecting the Sacred Timeline, but he instead received a dagger through his chest.
With his dying breath, He Who Remains warned Sylvie of the Multiverse War to come and predicted they'd end up "right back here anyway." Based on the footage in this video, it seems his words will be proven correct as Tom Hiddleston's God of Mischief is shown in the Citadel.
Interestingly, he's wearing the exact same costume from the season 1 finale, with that cut on his arm still present. This suggests we're either getting a flashback to what happened or, more intriguingly, a retelling which perhaps changes the course of history.
Some of you might argue this has to be recycled behind-the-scenes footage, but we know that's not the case because Hiddleston is shown talking to Loki season 2 director Justin Benson.
Check out the featurette below and let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
Loki season 2 will pick up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority. Along with Mobius, Hunter B-15 and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose.
The series stars Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero, Rafael Casal, Tara Strong, Kate Dickie, Liz Carr, Neil Ellice, with Jonathan Majors, Ke Huy Quan and Owen Wilson.
Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead, Dan Deleeuw and Kasra Farahani direct episodes. The Head Writer is Eric Martin.
