LOKI Season 2 Mid-Season Trailer Reveals Mobius' Past Life And Teases High Stakes In Final Two Episodes

A new mid-season trailer for Loki sets the stage for what promises to be an epic final couple of episodes, and if you're curious about why Mobius has a thing for Jet Skis, then you'll find the answer here!

Marvel Studios has released the mid-season trailer for Loki before the penultimate episode hits Disney+ this Thursday and it's packed full of exciting teases.

After the cataclysmic events of last week's instalment, it appears the God of Mischief will travel through time to find his friends from the TVA...in their past lives. As expected, Mobius was once a Jet Ski salesman (Casey looks to have been a prisoner), so how can this ragtag band hope to fix the Time Loom so the Multiverse can live on?

That's not an answer we anticipate getting until later this week, though the entire TVA seems to be undergoing the same spaghettification process as Victor Timely following his gruesome demise. This trailer also confirms that Ravonna Renslayer was sent to The Void after being pruned by Sylvie.

We still have a lot of questions about Loki and how it will fit into the wider Multiverse Saga. If nothing else, the events of this series have explained the Multiverse's return, teeing up the war that's to come when all those Kang Variants once again take aim at each other.

As for how the Asgardian fits into that story, we don't know, though a recent costume reveal suggested he could be gearing up for a much bigger role in the MCU than assisting the TVA.

Check out this new Loki season 2 trailer below and check back here on Thursday for our in-depth spoiler recaps of the show's fifth episode.

Loki season 2 will pick up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority. Along with Mobius, Hunter B-15 and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose.

The series stars Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero, Rafael Casal, Tara Strong, Kate Dickie, Liz Carr, Neil Ellice, with Jonathan Majors, Ke Huy Quan and Owen Wilson.

Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead, Dan Deleeuw and Kasra Farahani direct episodes. The Head Writer is Eric Martin.

The first four episodes of Loki season 2 are now streaming on Disney+.

I wish the series was more fast-paced and quirky like in these promos and trailers instead of the overly-serious snooze fest that it is

@JFerguson - you might like she hulk if you want fast paced and quirky 😋

@Vigor - she hulk was always gonna be shite from one look at a trailer. You get what you see.

These Loki trailers can only be described as misleading for general audience.

@JFerguson - But, if you get what you see from trailers, and the Loki trailers look good, then . . . doesn't that mean that Loki is good?
JFerguson
JFerguson - 10/30/2023, 1:45 PM
@ClintThaHamster - no my dear hamster. It means that the trailer editors on she hulk did their job correctly. Appropriate marketing.

Loki trailer editors have no idea how to market the show’s ham-fisted dialogue so they try to make it look like a fast-paced and quirky adventure series instead.

The sci-fi elements of this show are weak and diluted.

@JFerguson - it’s the best thing on Disney+ what are you smoking and can I get some? Lol
clintthahamster
clintthahamster - 10/30/2023, 2:32 PM
@TheLobster - I don't think I want to smoke anything that makes good shows seem bad. I prefer the stuff that makes bad stuff good, and good stuff great.

@JFerguson - I guess I can see your POV. But people talking in movies and TV shows don't make them innately boring. Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Better Call Saul, the Sopranos . . . most of the best TV shows are mostly people talking. It's fine.
JFerguson
JFerguson - 10/30/2023, 3:17 PM
@ClintThaHamster - oh I agree completely. I love plenty of those series and others that are mostly people talking.

But when you have sci-fi series like Netflix’s Dark or Fx’s Legion out there, you expect more from a show marketed as a sci-fi epic.

Every bit of dialogue and conversation in those shows worked as both character study and propelled the science fiction elements seamlessly. All while letting the audience piece together what’s happening all on their own.

Loki seems to be obsessed with dropping time travel vocabulary like “temporal loom” and “throughput multiplier”

@JFerguson - What's more true to the Marvel Method of storytelling, if not massive piles of technical gibberish and jargon, though?

But yeah, there are certainly times when I've felt out of my depth with the exposition. I can see that being off-putting. I'm still enjoying the hell out of it, though!

@ClintThaHamster - all good I’m glad you enjoy the series. When marvel content is good for the majority of fans it’s still a win for the genre.

I hope Eric Martin isn’t given the reigns to the rest of the saga because of it though

They still have a chance to stick the landing for me. I need some explanation on why Victor being from the 19th century contradicts what HWR says.

I'm wondering if this show is what makes uber Kang. My guess is a cop out, either he dies again or they wipe his memory.
ShimmyShimmyYA
ShimmyShimmyYA - 10/30/2023, 2:31 PM
@AvalonX - what’s the contradiction
AvalonX
AvalonX - 10/30/2023, 5:06 PM
@ShimmyShimmyYA - HWR says clearly that a variant of his, a scientist from the 31st century discovered universes stacked on top of each other etc. This matches what we know about Nathaniel Richards being from the distant future (even though they dont use the Richards name).
BigPhilbowski
BigPhilbowski - 10/30/2023, 5:31 PM
@AvalonX - so? In the multiverse there's a version of Kang born in every single time period. There's no contradiction

TheLobster

@Saga - Loki season one finale was anything but that so why assume that’s going to be the case?
JFerguson
JFerguson - 10/30/2023, 2:54 PM
@TheLobster - doesn’t count. Loki was always envisioned to receive a season 2. This allowed season 1 to end on an unresolved cliffhanger.

The other shows are all one season miniseries.

Also, you’re telling me introducing a new character (He Who Remains) in the finale and have him deliver an exposition dump on Loki and Sylvie to explain the creation of the TVA wasn’t rushed?
TheLobster
TheLobster - 11/1/2023, 2:18 AM
@JFerguson - Correct. The writing in that finale paired with Major’s excellent acting made the whole thing feel very natural. It also left enough intrigue so it wasn’t all nicely tied up with a bow which was refreshing.
