LOKI Social Media Reactions Point To The God Of Mischief's Series Being Marvel's Best Disney+ Show Yet

The first social media reactions for Loki have found their way online, and it sounds like the God of Mischief's solo series is the best Marvel Studios TV show to have hit Disney+ yet. Check it out...

The first social media reactions for Loki have arrived prior to the review embargo lifting on Tuesday, and any reservations you may have had about the God of Mischief holding his own in a TV series will soon vanish. As you can see below, the response has been overwhelmingly positive, with the vast majority praising the Disney+ series as Marvel Studios' best yet.

That's no easy feat after both WandaVision and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier impressed, but it's looking like Loki is going to be on a whole other level if these reactions are any indication.

There's not long to go until fans can make their own minds up, of course, but the critics featured here were able to watch the first two episodes (only one will premiere on the streaming service this Wednesday). Based on past experience, that will be it for advance screeners, so critics and fans alike will be on even footing from week three onwards.

This week, we'll have plenty of coverage for you, including a breakdown of that premiere, a closer look at the show's biggest reveals, and some unexpected casting news.

In Loki, the imperious God of Mischief, who, after absconding with the Tesseract, is a fish-out-of-water when he lands in a world of trouble with the bureaucratic TVA (Time Variance Authority) steps out of his brother’s shadow in a new series that takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame.

Tom Hiddleston returns as the title character, joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant. Kate Herron directs Loki, and Michael Waldron is head writer. Recently, we learned the show will premiere on Disney+ on June 9th, 2021.

That shouldn’t be that hard in my opinion. As high as the budget was for the previous two shows. They were disappointing to me, I’d rather watch Superman and Lois

@Will44482 - well Superman and Lois is pretty damn amazing. Best live action comic show of the year

Really this is the one im least interested in. So cheap to bring Loki back after he had completed his redemption arc and have it be a version who didnt have that arc

@dracula - As much as I love Hiddleston in the role, I didn't really care for his arc after the first Thor. In Thor 1, he was this pitch-perfect backstabber who justified his betrayal of everyone else with twisted proclamations of fidelity to Asgard.

Avengers is kind of a one-off sociopathic tantrum, but then after that we pretty much get a defanged Loki. Even him dethroning Odin is pretty toothless because we are left to imagine that Odin was hanging out on Earth for three years perfectly happy (instead of homeless and magically-befuddled as it seems he was meant to be).

I have enjoyed him a lot, but he's felt shallower and shallower with each appearance. If this series gives him some more of that great depth from Thor 1, a return to an edgier version of the character, and maybe a do-over on his arc, that might make me very happy.

I can't recall the last time social media reactions said something was anything other than "the best yet".

@RageDriver2401

“It’s the best one since (insert last franchise movie/show”

Loki should be pretty good. I weirdly have more confidence in this show than either of the other ones.

@RageDriver2401 - In general I trust social media as much as I trust Chipotle to enforce the "Employees must wash hands" rule.

This all sounds promising. WandaVision was the MCU show thus far. The Falcon And The Winter Soldier was alright overall, some good action but that's about it.

Love me some time travel.

Some folks will always want the tried and true classical approach. The same good guys beating up the same bad guys...there is definitely always a place for that.

But...

From JOKER to now LOKI...with maybe BLACK ADAM and (fingers crossed) a DOCTOR DOOM or a LEX LUTHOR focus movie/show...

This is what I want to see more of.

@IronGenesis - I am astonished WB didn't immediately greenlight a Lex Luthor runs for President, rise and fall film that leaned heavily on the Trump parallels, once Joker made a billion. Byrne literally based Post Crisis Luthor on Trump!

@IronGenesis - Yes to Doctor Doom.

I liked WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

But for me personally I still prefer Daredevil, I always couldn't wait until I could watch the next episode.
Constantly left me wanting more

@SimplyAz - to be fair though, Daredevil may still be the best CBTV show of all time. Fiege don’t be stupid and throw this gem away
