Earlier today, we learned that Loki has been moved up to June 9th, which means it will be the first Marvel Studios series on Disney+ to stream on Wednesdays rather than Fridays. Accompanying the premiere date change is the official HD version of the TV spot that first aired on Monday evening.
There aren't any big reveals here, but we do get to see more of Loki's interactions with the TVA as he exclaims that he's "burdened with glorious purpose" (we've heard that before).
A recently released synopsis revealed that the villain will be "forced to answer for his crimes against the timeline and given a choice: face deletion from reality or assist in catching an even greater threat." We still don't know what that greater threat is, but alternate versions of Loki seem likely.
In Loki, the imperious God of Mischief, who, after absconding with the Tesseract, is a fish-out-of-water when he lands in a world of trouble with the bureaucratic TVA (Time Variance Authority) steps out of his brother’s shadow in a new series that takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame.
Tom Hiddleston returns as the title character, joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant. Kate Herron directs Loki, and Michael Waldron is head writer. Recently, we learned the show will premiere on Disney+ on June 11th, 2021.
