LOKI: The Truth About The Time-Keepers Was Finally Revealed In Today's Unmissable Episode - SPOILERS

Today's episode of Loki will be talked about for a long time to come, and the truth about the Time-Keepers is likely to dominate the conversation. Find out what's really going on in the TVA right here...

Like the God of Mischief himself, we've all had our doubts about the Time Variance Authority being ruled over by the so-called "Time-Keepers." They do exist in the comic books, of course, but there's been something strange about the whole thing from the start, and the truth was revealed in today's astonishing episode of Loki.

After being captured by the TVA, Loki and Sylvie are finally brought up in front of the trio of seemingly omnipotent beings who rule over the Sacred Timeline.

They describe Sylvie as a "cosmic disappointment," and quickly order that both Variants are deleted. However, some help from an unexpected ally (don't worry, we'll get into that in our recap of the episode) means that the two Lokis are able to overpower their captors, and it's then that Sylvie uses her blade to cut the head right off one of the Time-Keepers. Mission accomplished, right?

The only problem is that it's an android. They all are.

Someone else is clearly in charge of the TVA, and these robot Time-Keepers are likely just a front to keep the organisation's agents subservient (after all, it gives them someone larger than life to answer to). As for who the true big bad is, we certainly have some theories, and it could quite easily still be another Loki who wants to make sure he's the only God of Mischief who lives forever.

However, we're going to go ahead and share our prediction that it's Kang the Conqueror. Judge Renslayer is clearly in on the act, and given her history with that villain in the comics, it just makes sense. It looks like answers may be coming next week, and it feels like things are about to get insane

Starting to feel like all the Kang theories are Mephisto 2.0

The connective tissue is there with Renslayer & the Time Keepers, but we've got 2 episodes left and introducing a main antagonist in the 11th hour rarely ever works well. I'm thinking that it's someone we've been introduced to before, just not sure who. In any case things got a whole lot more interesting. What a whirlwind of an episode.

@Visualiza - tbh who else could it be, would of though it was Richard E Grant but that went out the window

@MrPositive - I mean I just said I'm not sure who it is. We'll find out soon enough, but people need to stop getting married to their pet theories or they may end up disappointed.

This episode had the biggest shocker cameo and it wasnt even hinted at

@MrPositive - I was very happy to see her again. So glad she couldn't be in Ragnarok (where she apparently would have died) due to her TV show schedule. And we get to see her in the next Thor film.

It won't be the first time that kang has been involved in robot manufacturing.

@nomore4815 - Then who? Mephisto?
LSHF
LSHF - 6/30/2021, 3:36 PM
@nomore4815 - Since Marvel Studios has been making up new characters that are combinations of two or more others, I would like to submit that it is Kang the Conquering Mephisto.

And I'm willing to bet all that I own that I am wrong.

So that was Stark/Avengers tower in the background behind Richard Grant, right?

@clornelas - The timeline in which the avengers lost to Loki in 2012
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 6/30/2021, 2:28 AM
@clornelas @nomore4815 - I think that was Avengers Tower, so it can't be 2012 (2014 at the earliest considering thats when we saw Avengers Towers first in CATWS)
clornelas
clornelas - 6/30/2021, 2:31 AM
@bkmeijer - well technically, it became Avengers Tower by the end of Avengers, in 2012, right? The other letters fell off during the battle.
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 6/30/2021, 2:36 AM
@clornelas - the Avengers Tower has more glass and additional upper levels. There was definitely some reconstructing done I guess

Mephisto is behind the TVA business, so obvious.

At first it actually surprised me they were seemingly real, but they pulled the twist on the twist that they were fake. And it wasn't Grant pulling the strings either, I like it.
clornelas
clornelas - 6/30/2021, 2:32 AM
@bkmeijer - they looked and moved so bad and animatronic, anything other than them being robots would have been embarrassing.
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 6/30/2021, 2:37 AM
@clornelas - in hindsight I wonder if they got the animatronic from Disney World (I thought they looked convincing enough initially)
JoeInTheBox
JoeInTheBox - 6/30/2021, 5:35 AM
@clornelas - It fits in with the TVA's retro-futurism aesthetic. They could have been bad holograms or projections like the Wizard of Oz and I would have been delighted with the attention to detail.

BTW, my office has Bonnie Tyler's Holding Out for a Hero playing on the sound system and I'm kinda enjoying this Wednesday morning.

They sold that they were seemingly real for a bit and I bought it. I figured deep down they’re some sort of puppets or illusions and I even thought as Sylvie tossed the blade at them it would reveal an enchantment.

I didn’t necessarily see androids being it. I have no idea who is behind this now. Kang? It ain’t King Loki; obviously after that mid credit scene.

I would like it to be Kang but I remember wanting Mephisto in WandaVision and we all know how disappointing it was when he didn't show up.
