LOKI To Feature Jonathan Majors' Kang Variants In At Least Half Of Season 2; New Miss Minutes Promo Art

With Jonathan Majors now due in court later this month, new details have emerged about exactly how much of the actor we'll see when he returns as Kang in Loki's upcoming second season. Check it out...

A new look at Miss Minutes in Loki season 2 has been revealed, and with Tara Strong's TVA mascot clearly set to play a pivotal role in the series (and Deadpool 3 if recent rumours are to be believed), we're sure many of you will be excited to see her put front and centre.

The first season made it clear Miss Minutes was loyal to He Who Remains, but how much Kang can we expect?

As we recently reported, following yet another delay, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania star Jonathan Majors is due back in court on September 15 to face trial on misdemeanour charges of harassment and assault.

If the actor is found guilty, that's likely to be the end of his time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (in fact, his career as a whole might be over). However, should Majors' name be cleared, there's really no reason why he can't continue playing Kang the Conqueror.

Majors' role in Loki season 2 has already been shot we now have word from The Hollywood Reporter on how much of his Kang Variants we'll see in the series.

"The actor, who plays the role of Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel universe, is still believed to appear in about half of the episodes of Loki season two," the trade reveals, "and Marvel has not been hiding that fact in the marketing."

This means we'll see the time-travelling villain in at least three episodes, suggesting Victor Timely will have a pretty meaty role in the story. As you can see below, rumour has it He Who Remains will also appear, and we'd be shocked if there aren't perhaps one or two other surprises in order to better flesh out the ongoing Multiverse Saga.

Is it likely that, given Jonathan Majors' continued legal troubles, Marvel Studios will change course and take Kang off the board? It's certainly possible, though there is still a movie called Avengers: The Kang Dynasty on the horizon! The nature of the Multiverse would make it relatively easy to recast the role.

Stay tuned for updates on Loki season 2 as we have them.

Loki season 2 picks up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority. Along with Mobius, Hunter B-15 and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose.

The series stars Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero, Rafael Casal, Tara Strong, Kate Dickie, Liz Carr, Neil Ellice, with Jonathan Majors, Ke Huy Quan and Owen Wilson.

Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead, Dan Deleeuw and Kasra Farahani direct episodes. The Head Writer is Eric Martin.

Loki season 2 begins streaming on October 6, exclusively on Disney+.

He's the reason I enjoyed the 1st season and he was only in one episode. So if he's in half of the second, I'll take that as great news!

Anyone else hate the term variant as much as I do now? Seems as if though that is all marvel is anymore is different variants…

@EZBeast - maybe not hate, but I certainly don't like it. But that might also be because I don't even like the MCU going all in on the multiverse either.

The multiverse was a cool concept in Endgame and Loki, but they're using it too easily now imo.

@EZBeast Marvel seems to always overstay their welcome when it comes to trends and ideas. I guess that's what they get for making each "Phase" 3-4 years long. They do a lot of set up when the payoff is so far down the line that everyone loses interest by then.

@bkmeijer1 - multiverse wasn't in Endgame

bkmeijer1 - 9/10/2023, 2:36 AM
@Comicmoviejunki - I'd say it was. Time travel created multiple timelines. And timelines and universes can be used interchangeably

@bkmeijer1 - I get what you're saying but no. Different times same universe.

@Comicmoviejunki - I can go on a whole physics talk about why they are, but I'll just leave it at Endgame being one of the few movies that finally got time travel rules right.

I'm guessing we'll see Victor Timely, the new TVA-leading Kang and maybe even Chronomintor.

Just hope that whatever version shows up, actually wins over the heroes. So far every Kang has lost, and that isn't really setting up Kang as a big threat for Kang Dynasty in my opinion.

Why tf are they using Kang for the next decade... Thanos was there but he had like two appearances over 10 years.. until he showed up to really wreak havoc. This clown got clapped by Ant-Man. And that was THE CONQUEROR. Delusional idiots being led by incompetent execs who are flying to close to the sun

Antman really killled the excitement for Kang. I’m hoping Loki can revive the excitement I have for the character.
Side note: A lot of people on here claimed he was cancelled and his career was over🧐

Bring in John Boyega as a younger Kang/Timely. That’s a what If Jonathan Majors is guilty. Film them both together and we learn it’s him just younger.
