Netflix has released the first official trailer for one of their more interesting upcoming projects, They Cloned Tyrone. The original sci-fi comedy mystery will see an unlikely trio of heroes accidentally unearth a nefarious government experiment, which, based on the title, will involve cloning - and someone named Tyrone.

The teaser trailer doesn't reveal too much, at least in terms of the overall plot, but does offer an extended look at a very fun elevator sequence between the three charismatic stars, before sending them underground to a strange laboratory. They soon learn that everything is not what it seems and uncover what could be a game-changing discovery.

Juel Taylor (Fred UnpluggedTwenties) directed the feature and co-wrote the script with Tony Rettenmaier.

The film stars John Boyega (Star Wars: The Rise of SkywalkerBreaking) as Fontaine, Teyonah Parris (WandaVisionThe Marvels) as Yo-Yo, and Academy Award-winner Jamie Foxx (Spider-Man: No Way HomeCollateral) as Slick Charles.

No word on who is playing Tyrone, but it's likely something we will soon discover as the film is due to hit Netflix before the end of this calendar year, with December being the expected launch frame.

Check out the official trailer below:

A series of eerie events thrusts an unlikely trio (John Boyega, Teyonah Parris and Jamie Foxx) onto the trail of a nefarious government experiment in this pulpy mystery caper.

Looks super cool. Haven't always been the biggest fan of the streaming movies, but this looks like a lot of fun.

I like the cast so it should make for a fun dynamic between the three. But I just hope John Boyega doesn't make it about him and his movement again. It's like everytime he comments on something he has to remind everyone of his struggles and his resentment for certain things over and over again. He's like how Brie Larson was during the Captain Marvel press tours.

@SonOfAGif - It's funny because Boyega was not born here in the U.S. But he goes on preaching. But then you have someone like Denzel Washington or Morgan Freeman who are much MUCH older than Boyega. Who were actually born during the Civil rights movement, and regularly talk about personal responsibility. That's not something that's promoted much anymore. Easier to blame society than to look within.

@DarthOmega - Sadly racism is worldwide not in just so called america. Boyega has that right to call it out.

@DarthOmega - Exactly. I definitely respect a person's point of view based on their struggles. But I hate when people constantly have to use every avenue and platform to remind people over and over of what they went through and how they blame specific things for the reasoning behind it. If they asked him "How did you feel about The Mandalorian?" He would say "Star Wars is dead to me. The fact that a black character was crucified for comedy proves why Black Hollywood is a myth" and so on. And it's so unnecessary and annoying. It just screams "I want constant attention! Headlines! Drama! Interviews!"

@SonOfAGif - Well maybe publications should stop asking him about Star Wars since he clearly has disdain for it then?

And this is a blaxpoitation film that clearly has racial undertones. Are you expecting race to never be brought up at all?

@MILESSPIDERMAN - Calling out racism is not a problem. Turning every interaction between people of color into an issue of racism is. Exaggeration of racism is. Accusations of racism where none is present is. Here's a question, do you think the issue of race is better no than it was 5 years ago? Do you think society has a better understanding of each other now than we did 5 years ago? Do you think race relations are better now than they were even 20 years ago? I'm a man of a certain age, In my lifetime I have never witnessed more division than we have now.

Don't think for one second it's because there is more racism now than it was back then. That would be laughable. What we do have now is a surplus of "activists" who see the world through their own narrow, echo chamber view. Disagree with them, you're a racist. Recognize nuance, you're a racist. Vote differently, you're a racist. I could be here all day listing off how BOTH parties are full of racists, liars, manipulators, career criminals, and so on, but depending on how you vote, you might only complain about one side. That's what these conversations have boiled down to. Your side vs mine. It has little to do with the merits of the discussion. I'm not talking about you, I mean the climate as a whole.

Speaking out against racism is always welcomed. Reenacting The Boy Who Cried Wolf is another. Don't think so? Ask the families of the slain how much they were compensated by BLM. Find out why BLM has so much fraud in their ranks. Ask why so many hate crime hoaxes have popped up.

@Kumkani - you know how it goes our issues need a time and place because it makes them uncomfortable to be faced with reality
SonOfAGif
SonOfAGif - 9/25/2022, 3:43 PM
@DarthOmega - Couldn't have said this better myself. It's the constant need for validation in every topic of conversation that has people constantly divisive. You can talk about fruits and how much you enjoy them and someone will mention how a specific fruit is a racial undertone for a corporation in the south. Then mention their struggles and so on. I don't want to hear all that. No different then when Brie Larson was asked about her training and what not for Captain Marvel and she had to express her constant resentment of men and people who don't support feminine movements. It's truly bizarre.

SonOfAGif - 9/25/2022, 3:46 PM
@ShimmyShimmyYA - Every issue needs a time and a place. Not every event, comment section, video game, bar, birthday, or whatever has to be a battleground for division and racism. It's unfortunate that people can't talk about a show or a movie without someone whether they are White or Black expressing their distaste for the racial undertones when there sometimes aren't any to begin with. Both sides are hypocrites with the matter and both sides only agree with what they believe in and refuse to hear the other sides point of view. And then it leads to a You vs. Me lifestyle which bleeds into every fabric of life.
DarthOmega
DarthOmega - 9/25/2022, 4:25 PM
@SonOfAGif - I want to look at this as a trend that's about to play itself out like "Planking" or the "Ice Box challenge" but it doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon sadly.
Kumkani
Kumkani - 9/25/2022, 4:26 PM
@SonOfAGif - John Boyega's identity as a black man living in an inherently racist society, working in a notoriously racist industry does not have a time and place, so why should he choose when and where to speak about it?

Something that affects a person's career and practically every waking moment doesn't need a time and place. And he has a right to be mad about it. He barely received any support from Disney during the first racist backlash, and the character he played got sidelined in the name of fan service.

It's your choice to simply ignore what he chooses to talk about. No one is forcing you to pay attention if it doesn't please you.

@DarthOmega - yup. Not one single famous person is buying the 10,000,000+ slaves in Africa and freeing them. They run about 40-400$ One billionaire basketball player should be able to afford all of them.

This looks good but the sad part is that weirdos on the internet will take this film as proof that people are being cloned.

Flat Earth, lizard people, politicians eating babies, space is fake, rappers and celebs being cloned and so on and so on.....
