Netflix revealed the premiere date for its upcoming adaptation of Mark Millar and Frank Quitely's Jupiter's Legacy a couple of weeks ago, and while we're still waiting on a trailer, Empire has now shared a new official look at Transformers actor Josh Duhamel as The Utopian.
The image sees the mega-powerful hero unleashing his blue heat-vision (if he calls it something else... we won't argue!) on X-Men actor Tyler Mane's villainous Blackstar.
Check out the pic below along with a recently released "Comics to Screen" featurette and some earlier promo stills.
“It’s a 50-year story self-contained inside one franchise,” creator Mark Millar tells the mag. “It’s got a cast of 50 or 60 super-characters. The story starts in 1929 and runs until the end of time. It runs through all time and space and explains the mystery of human existence, all tied into a superhero story.”
Jupiter's Legacy is "an epic superhero drama that spans decades and navigates the complex dynamics of family, power, and loyalty. After nearly a century of keeping mankind safe, the world’s first generation of superheroes must look to their children to continue the legacy. But tensions rise as the young superheroes, hungry to prove their worth, struggle to live up to their parents’ legendary public reputations — and exacting personal standards."
The Image Comics adaptation is set to premiere on Netflix on May 7.
