It's been a while since we had any updates on this one, but Netflix has now announced an official premiere date of May 7 for the streamer's adaptation of Mark Millar and Frank Quitely's Jupiter's Legacy.

We also have a first teaser for the show, and while it doesn't reveal any footage, we do hear Josh Duhamel's The Utopian deliver an ominous speech to (presumably) his daughter Chloe (Elena Kampouris)

“One day you’re going to be stronger than anyone else in the world. Every evil you can imagine is going to rise up against mankind. And not for justice, for vengeance. And you’re going to be the future.”

Jupiter's Legacy is "an epic superhero drama that spans decades and navigates the complex dynamics of family, power, and loyalty. After nearly a century of keeping mankind safe, the world’s first generation of superheroes must look to their children to continue the legacy. But tensions rise as the young superheroes, hungry to prove their worth, struggle to live up to their parents’ legendary public reputations — and exacting personal standards."

The series will also star Ben Daniels as Brain-Wave, Leslie Bibb as Lady Liberty, Andrew Horton as Brandon Sampson, Mike Wade as The Flare and Matt Lanter as Skyfox.

It'll be interesting to see how Jupiter's Legacy is received following Amazon's The Boys, which shares some very similar themes.

I haven't read as many comics as those on this site, but definitely enjoyed Jupiter's Legacy, so am looking forward to this.

Also another cool role for a Timeless cast member, Matt Lanter

Been a while since we've heard about this one. I'm in. Good choices on Josh Duhamel and Bibb for the cast. A great chance for them to get to shine as superheroes since they most likely missed their opportunities in their prime.

@WakandaTech - Yeah Netflix owns the "millar -world" AKA all the original comics by mark millar. The only ones they didn't get are Wanted, Kick-ass, and Kingsmen because Fox still owns those to my knowledge.

His comics are as weird as Amazon's The Boys so its going to be interesting.

I remember having read the first six issues or so of Legacy then it went on a hiatus as the prequel was published, and I kind of stopped there because I wanted to read Legacy, which was pretty engaging, and not the prequel. And then, of course, when it went back from hiatus.... I didn't read it, either.

GUess I'll have to catch up before this series debuts then. Millar is pretty hit-or-miss, with some even labeling a "hack", but this one seemed to be one of his good ones.

The teaser was well done enough to keep me intrigued to see what else they show later.

I have always struggled to get into Millar’s stuff... As he over uses violence and swearing it is no longer shocking or interesting.
