Universal Studios has announced a brand new maze coming to this year’s Halloween Horror Nights inspired by Netflix’s hit sci-fi show Stranger Things. Guests will be transported from Universal Studios to Hawkins, Indiana where they’ll eventually end up in the supernatural realm of the Upside Down.

The new maze, which was revealed today, will be inspired by Season 1 of Stranger Things and will include all of the supernatural and suspenseful frights from the show to terrorize guests. Series creators Matt and Ross Duffer and executive producer Shawn Levy are collaborating on the project, helping Universal recreate some of the show’s most iconic scenes, 80’s settings, and characters.

As detailed by Universal:

You’ll faithfully follow the storyline, starting off on Mirkwood and then quickly moving to inside Hawkins National Laboratory where things have gone terribly, terribly wrong.

From there you will experience all the most memorable moments and environments from the show while being hunted at every turn by the Demogorgon.

And of course, you’ll step into the mysterious darkness of the Upside Down more than once – whether you like it or not.

The Stranger Things maze will be coming to Universal Studios Orlando and its sister parks, Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Singapore. It’s the first of nine haunted mazes announced for the seasonal celebration. Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights runs from September 14 through November 3.

Meanwhile, Season 3 of Stranger Things is currently in the works, but does not yet have a premiere date for Netflix.

@chewie - the article only says Hollywood and singnapore. The video says all three. I’m going with the video.

I've never been to HHN, even as much as I wanted to go when they had the walking dead set up. I was pretty bummed out that they don't let you dress up but I get why. Also, it does nothing for admission cause that shit is still expensive, even with the Florida residence pass

@PrincessLeather - went to walking dead 2 years ago and after an hour wait, it was severely disappointing. You ain’t missing anything but the rest was really cool!

They should replace that terrible Walking dead walk through with this.
And why is the universal studios in Hollywood a second thought here? Its the one that is an actual studio and is much better than Orlando. The universal Orlando park is only cool for Harry Potter, the rest of the park looks like its stuck in 1997.

@Curlyhairfro - couldn’t agree more! Waited for an hour and a half for TWD and was so disappointed! Harry Potter is worth it though and I’m not even a huge fan.

It wouldn't take much to make this accurate (duh) & pretty terrifying.

Not sure how they will tone it for an amusement park gen audience; little kids will freak the f(rick) out if they see the Demagorgon consuming a mass of meat in a backlit corner.

Awesome idea

This sounds crazy awesome. I'll need a few L's before this one.

I would love to go but I cannot deal with over the top crowds of people. When I went to Universal Studios in February, it was the slow season. I rode every ride almost twice.
