AHSOKA Theory May Shed Some Light On The Role Of The Mortis Gods Moving Forward - Possible SPOILERS

It's now been over a week since Ahsoka's first season wrapped up on Disney+, and a new fan theory aims to explain the role of the Mortis Gods and why exactly The Daughter's statue was missing its head...

While some fans have shared their frustrations with Ahsoka's season 1 finale (it didn't really resolve many of the show's biggest mysteries), fans of The Clone Wars were treated to a jaw-dropping reveal when Baylan Skoll was shown standing atop a statue of the Mortis Gods.

We recently broke down their importance to the wider Star Wars mythos, but before their deaths, they were God-like beings - hence the name - known as The Ones who were thousands of years old and living embodiments of the balance of the Force.

On Peridea, The Father (who represents the balance between the light and dark sides of the Force) and The Son (the Dark) stood tall, but The Daughter's (the Light) statue had crumbled. It could be indicative of what's happened in the wider Galaxy...or it may mean more than we ever expected.

Something, or someone, is calling to Baylan Skoll - it could be The Mother - but in The Clone Wars, we saw The Son kill Ahsoka Tano as part of his plan to escape his Father's watchful eye. Anakin Skywalker pleaded with the latter to resurrect his Padawan, but it was The Daughter - who was also killed by her brother - who used her essence to bring Ahsoka back.

That owl Ahsoka sees in the finale, meanwhile, is Morai...The Daughter's avatar who the former Jedi last saw in Star Wars Rebels' World Between Worlds.

After reuniting with Anakin there, Ahsoka has rid herself of the darkness within and this theory suggests she will be The Daughter's replacement. Skoll or even Anakin could take The Father's place given their conflicted natures, while Shin Hati - or Sabine Wren if she falls to the Dark Side as Ahsoka once feared - will represent The Son.

Ahsoka seems like the obvious choice to fulfil The Daughter's role in the Galaxy given their connection and the thought of the fan-favourite former Jedi becoming a God in Star Wars...well, what an ending (or beginning) to her story that would be. For now, we'll have to wait and see what happens.

Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

In addition to Rosario Dawson in the title role, the series stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.

Ahsoka was written by Dave Filoni, who executive produces alongside Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, and Carrie Beck. Directors include Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Rick Famuyiwa.

All episodes of Ahsoka are now streaming on Disney+.
