AHSOKA Theory May Shed Some Light On The Role Of The Mortis Gods Moving Forward - Possible SPOILERS

It's now been over a week since Ahsoka's first season wrapped up on Disney+, and a new fan theory aims to explain the role of the Mortis Gods and why exactly The Daughter's statue was missing its head...

While some fans have shared their frustrations with Ahsoka's season 1 finale (it didn't really resolve many of the show's biggest mysteries), fans of The Clone Wars were treated to a jaw-dropping reveal when Baylan Skoll was shown standing atop a statue of the Mortis Gods.

We recently broke down their importance to the wider Star Wars mythos, but before their deaths, they were God-like beings - hence the name - known as The Ones who were thousands of years old and living embodiments of the balance of the Force.

On Peridea, The Father (who represents the balance between the light and dark sides of the Force) and The Son (the Dark) stood tall, but The Daughter's (the Light) statue had crumbled. It could be indicative of what's happened in the wider Galaxy...or it may mean more than we ever expected.

Something, or someone, is calling to Baylan Skoll - it could be The Mother - but in The Clone Wars, we saw The Son kill Ahsoka Tano as part of his plan to escape his Father's watchful eye. Anakin Skywalker pleaded with the latter to resurrect his Padawan, but it was The Daughter - who was also killed by her brother - who used her essence to bring Ahsoka back.

That owl Ahsoka sees in the finale, meanwhile, is Morai...The Daughter's avatar who the former Jedi last saw in Star Wars Rebels' World Between Worlds.

After reuniting with Anakin there, Ahsoka has rid herself of the darkness within and this theory suggests she will be The Daughter's replacement. Skoll or even Anakin could take The Father's place given their conflicted natures, while Shin Hati - or Sabine Wren if she falls to the Dark Side as Ahsoka once feared - will represent The Son.

Ahsoka seems like the obvious choice to fulfil The Daughter's role in the Galaxy given their connection and the thought of the fan-favourite former Jedi becoming a God in Star Wars...well, what an ending (or beginning) to her story that would be. For now, we'll have to wait and see what happens.

Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

In addition to Rosario Dawson in the title role, the series stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.

Ahsoka was written by Dave Filoni, who executive produces alongside Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, and Carrie Beck. Directors include Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Rick Famuyiwa.

All episodes of Ahsoka are now streaming on Disney+.

The way I saw it, Anakin already became a sort of Force God. Think Anakin pulled Ahsoka into the World Between Worlds, something the Mortis Gods seemingly only could through murals/portals.

And yeah, Ahsoka is obviously the Daughter. Kinda wanna see Starkiller be made canon and fill the Son's role. Baylan is more Gray Jedi-ish, so I doubt he's gonna be the Son or get in league with the Mother (if she exists at all).

@bkmeijer1 - Kylo Ren as Son?

@MrDandy - that probably fits the most, although he doesn't have a direct link to Anakin (as he never met him face to face)

Wonder if they ever will release more of the unfinished Clone Wars episodes. From what ive heard they have dozens of them in various stages of production.

Could release some of them as part of Tales of The Jedi or Visions or something else.

Really hope to see the Cad Bane/Boba Fett story released somewhere at some point

@dracula - I think they wanted S7 to be the final word on the series but I still hope they will animate Son of Dathomir. It was released as a comic but it would be cool if the episode was finished.

Ahsoka taking the place of the daughter has been a theory for a very long time. Also Filoni is a Lucas loyalist and making him no longer the chosen one in the sequel trilogy probably didn’t sit right with him. I could see him using the Mortis mythology to return Anakin to his position as the “chosen one” again by being the balancing force between daughter and son.

Thought we saw the owl following Ashoka in an episode of Mandalorian.

The way I see it, they need to explain her absence during the sequel trilogy, while Luke is dying etc, her having become a “god” and being above it could be a reason.

Bummer we didn’t get old Rex, also felt they needed more Chopper and more Ezra.

The show was Oh-Kay… not as good as it could have been, but not as bad as some say..

You just kind of have to have watched Clone Wars and Rebels to be fully invested in the characters, otherwise this is not only the first time you’ve seen Ashoka, but pretty much everyone else other than Mon-Mothma

I fully expect season 2 to only further hype up the crossover event movie they have planned, more excited for that than anything else SW related, aside from a KOTOR show/movie.

I would think Luke would be a better representative of the balance of the force then Anakin. He over came his darkness but also understood that emotions were important. I give my vote to Luke for the avatar of balance, plus it doesn't hurt that in real life he has that look of a wise father figure, with just a dash of mischief.
