A new extended TV spot for Ahsoka has been released (via SFFGazette.com), starting a countdown to the show's premiere on Disney+.

Packed full of never-before-seen footage from the Star Wars Rebels sequel, Hayden Christensen's long-rumoured return as Anakin Skywalker is finally confirmed. As Ahsoka Tano reflects on leaving her Master and the Jedi Order, we hear new dialogue of him speaking to her in a scene set during The Clone Wars

This suggests we're going to revisit the events of that animated series, albeit in live-action. This makes sense when there will be viewers who are likely unfamiliar with the animated series and Ahsoka's backstory, with many fans meeting her for the first time in The Mandalorian.

Seeing more of Christensen as Anakin will be a real treat - especially if he dons his Clone Wars armour - and we only hope rumours of him suiting up as Darth Vader are also correct.

You can watch this newly released Ahsoka TV spot below.

Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

In addition to Rosario Dawson in the title role, the series stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.

Ahsoka was written by Dave Filoni, who executive produces alongside Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, and Carrie Beck. Directors include Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Rick Famuyiwa.

Ahsoka will launch exclusively on Disney+ on August 23 with a two-episode premiere.

It’s just great to see the fandom finally embrace Hayden after all these years. All it took was a controversial sequel trilogy for them to hate instead.

@PlusUltra - it was bound to happen, even if the sequels were good, because a lot of us prequel fans are coming into our 30's and are more vocal. But the sequels being underwhelming does help lol.

@PlusUltra - and the generation that loves the sequels with ridley, issaac and boyega will grow older and bring their voice to the table reigniting interest and love in those films. the love the prequels is getting now is awesome, but at the time it was a segment of vocal toxic people like now that ruined the experience for the fans and actors involved. its sad really.

Looks like crap, even sounds like crap. Christensen's voice has changed. They should've tweaked it to sound like his younger self. What we see of saber fights is very bad. It was dumb JJ Abrams who started Force Users holding back opponent's sabers. It was a terrible idea that has become a standard in the new shit version of Lucasfilm.

And the whole purpose of bringing Anakin back will be to retcon Ahsoka as his superior. In flashbacks she will best Anakin, and it will be made clear that despite the hype, Ahsoka was somehow better than Anakin.
