Vanity Fair (via SFFGazette.com) has put the spotlight on Lucasfilm's Star Wars TV shows and that means we have a long-overdue look at Darth Vader ahead of Obi-Wan Kenobi's May 27 premiere. The villain has been kept under wraps for the most part since Disney+ started promoting the show, but he looks pretty much exactly as you'd expect and hope the character would for his live-action return.

During an interview with the site, Hayden Christensen explained why he chose to reprise the role of Anakin Skywalker in the show. "This is a character that has come to define my life in so many ways," the actor explains. "I was originally hired to play a very specific portion of this person’s life. Most of my work was with Anakin. And now I get to come back and explore the character of Darth Vader."

Some have wondered why he's donning the armour in place of a stand-in, but it's clear Christensen has given the portrayal of Anakin as Vader a great deal of thought. "A lot of my conversations with Deborah were about wanting to convey this feeling of strength, but also coupled with imprisonment. There is this power and vulnerability, and I think that’s an interesting space to explore."

Unfortunately, we're unable to share the images with you here due to them being copyrighted. However, you can check out the photoshoot by heading over to Vanity Fair's website by clicking here.

Also pictured alongside Hayden Christensen's Sith Lord are Moses Ingram as Reva and Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi. Andor stars Diego Luna and Genevieve O'Reilly don their respective costumes as Cassian Andor and Mon Mothma, while you'll also see Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin and Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano. Hopefully, more new content is heading our way during Star Wars Celebration!

As for Obi-Wan Kenobi, we'll have more to share about the series with you very soon!

I think Hayden is a solid actor with the right material. Revenge of The Sith made Anakin a hell of a lot more tolerable and even made me kinda sympathetic towards him at times despite his poor choices.

That's a great promo image. It's a shame those characters will never meet all together canon wise.

Vader's armor is WRONG and doesn't fit in the timeline. Wrong helmet, wrong shoulders, and he is supposed to have his robes OVER the chest armor instead of UNDER it...

@Yuhio - honestly, I don't see a lot of differences that really break the immersion (can't say that for the Grand Inquisitor). I guess we can throw it on Vader having multiple suits, since he also looked different in Rogue One

@Yuhio - You don't think in the 9 years between this series and ANH he never decided to switch it up? In 9 years, haven't you ever tucked in your shirt some days and left it untucked on others?

This suit appears to be borrowing from the best parts of his ROTS, ANH, and ESB suits. It's not bad.

@VicSage - Why complicate things when they can be simple? Just give Vader the damn original suit he had in 'A New Hope'. And avoid continuity errors. He's not Iron Man always adapting his armor to different circumstances.

Phew, that's a long-ass read. Interesting bits of info though (enough to fill a week of articles, so y'all prepare yourselves), like Kennedy actually having a roadmap. Kinda hope we get to see that in a few weeks on Celebration.

As for the photos they're fine I guess. There is something about that cover that looks kinda off though.
