STAR WARS: THE ACOLYTE Expected To Include Appearances From KOTOR Characters Darth Revan And More

There's some potentially very exciting news for fans of Knights of the Old Republic today as a new report suggests that characters from that franchise will factor into Star Wars: The Acolyte. Check it out!

While Lucasfilm is still struggling to get their big screen Star Wars projects off the ground, there's a lot for fans of this Galaxy Far, Far Away to be excited about on Disney+. Obi-Wan Kenobi is currently streaming, while Andor is right around the corner and cameras have already started rolling on Ahsoka.

Looking beyond those projects, we also have The Acolyte, a series that promises to explore The High Republic Era in live-action for the first time.

Now, a very interesting rumour is doing the rounds about Leslye Headland's series, with The DisInsder Show (via SFFGazette.com) suggesting that we'll see Darth Bane, Darth Nihilus, Darth Malak, and Darth Revan appear. We'd imagine this will be through flashbacks or other glimpses into the past given that they precede this time by thousands of years, but who knows what Lucasfilm has planned.

With The Acolyte expected to focus on the emergence of the Dark Side of the Force prior to Palpatine's rise to power in the Star Wars prequels (this show is set a good few hundred years before them), it only makes sense to take a look back at those who would eventually become known as the Sith.

There continue to be rumblings about a Knights of the Old Republic video game sequel or adaptation that expands on that popular part of the mythos, and Headland's plans could tie nicely into that.

Keep checking back here for the latest updates on The Acolyte as we have them!

@rebellion - I'll see how Andor turns out first. That show seems to be going in a slightly different direction.

@Drace24 - I’m on team Drace24 here. I grew up with the Original Trilogy, and as a teen was pretty hyped about the upcoming prequels. I was ultimately a bit disappointed by them. Same sort of criticisms as we’re hearing about any of the new Disney Star Wars content now. Bad pacing, bad story, bad dialog, bad acting. What I realized later was that the OT suffered from all of those things too, but still had me wowed when I was a kid. Rose coloured glasses. I aged out of the demographic. Now I’ve accepted that this is how Star Wars has always been and I’ve become a fan again. The prequels will never by MY Star Wars, but I like them well enough now. The Sequels are nearly unwatchable for me, but again I’m sure there are younger fans who love them (kids these days). I think a lot of the criticism that Star Wars gets is from it’s own fanbase. People who fell in love with Star Wars at a certain point in their life. Now that their tastes have matured what they expect out of Star Wars is different. Star Wars is still what it’s always been, a throwback to retro 1950s sci-fi fantasy schlock, Samurai films, and spaghetti westerns with mediocre dialog and strange story choices. Just because you’ve changed doesn’t mean it has to. It’s just not for you anymore. I swear, if some people actually got the Star Wars that they wanted, it would completely lose the whole tone and feeling of what Star Wars is at its core. Your music is not better than the music these punk kids are listening to these days grandpa, and I think you’ll find your Star Wars has many of the same flaws as the Star Wars being released by Disney.

P.s. despite the above, I still think the sequels were dogshite, but have quite enjoyed everything else Disney has put out.

So far the misses are the one that heavily involve the classic characters (sequel trilogy, solo, fett)

The hits have been the new character stuff (rebels, rogue one, bad batch, mando)

hopefully this is good
