THE MANDALORIAN Family Of Shows Rumored To Bring Back Classic STAR WARS Character For Cameo Role

A new rumour suggests that one of the upcoming Star Wars TV shows set during that post-Return of the Jedi period will bring back a classic character we most recently saw in Andor. Find more details here...

The Mandalorian has expanded the Star Wars Universe in ways we never could have expected when it first launched on Disney+. So far, it's been joined by The Book of Boba Fett, while Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew - both set during that same post-Return of the Jedi period - will be released later this year.

The expectation is that all these shows are eventually going to culminate with a huge crossover event, and a new rumour shared by Making Star Wars (via SFFGazette.com) sheds some light on a big cameo being planned for The Mandalorian and beyond.

"I have been told Mon Mothma is relevant in the new shows," the site explains. "She did create the Military Disarmament Act which has left the galaxy vulnerable to such an unknown threat. She is likely in these shows in a cameo-size part. It sounds fun."

Genevieve O'Reilly reprising her Andor role to reveal how Mon Mothma dealt with the fallout from the Empire's defeat is an idea with plenty of potential. How her mission changed after Emperor Palpatine's demise is a story we'd love to see play out across these shows, and we'd say The Mandalorian and Ahsoka are the most likely places for this cameo to happen.

As noted above, we've previously heard that Mon's creation of the aforementioned Military Disarmament Act, which aimed to decrease the size of the Republic's military forces, is what left the Galaxy vulnerable to the rise of The First Order.

That's a sad way for her story to end, especially after the sacrifices we know the Rebel made following the events of Revenge of the Sith. However, we're sure Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have some exciting plans to flesh out this pivotal period in the Galaxy. We'd also put money on Grand Admiral Thrawn and Moff Gideon factoring into why the new Chancellor returns.

This is just a rumour for now, of course, but the intel comes our way from a reliable source. If this cameo is planned, then we'd bet on it being kept a secret until it actually takes place, though there's always a chance Mon Mothma will be spotted in an upcoming trailer for one of these shows.

What left the republic vulnerable to the first order rising is bad writing and Kathleen Kennedys lack of planning

@Vigor - rehashing the rebels vs Wmprie in general is god awful writing, that is the single biggest mistake imo. Idk what they were thinking. TPM and AOTC aren’t good but at least they try to do something different

@Taonrey - Star Wars is creatively bankrupt to this point. All they can do is to throw the same crap over and over and see what sticks.

Mandalorian was great but that's it.

That would be interesting. I do like the post-ROTJ world of the New Republic and the origin of the First Order, so I'd be open to seeing more of that in visual media

I mean, that was kind of a bone-headed move. With the Sith being a thing there will always be a threat to the Galaxy. And their past has shown them that every time they think the Sith are dead and gone, they always rise back up.

I mean, it's not like the Empire was the first time the Sith ever had an army and threatened to take over the galaxy lol.

Why on Endor would you fight so hard and for so long to defeat the Empire only to disarm yourself and leave yourself open to another uprising?

Lmao. When you really think about it, Mon Mothma and her Rebellion started out as a small, rag tag force and they eventually overthrew the largest military power their galaxy has ever seen. She should know from her own actions that even a small force can topple even the strongest military and governing body. So why would she disarm her own government? Seems pretty blind and ignorant to me.

It is sad how these shows need to devote time explaining why the sequel trilogy happened. Like how we got a copy and paste of episode 4.
