THE MANDALORIAN: Simon Pegg Wants To Play Original Trilogy Bounty Hunter In The Disney+ Series

Simon Pegg is one of the only actors to have been granted the opportunity to act in both the Star Trek and Star Wars franchises, and he's now confessed that he hopes to appear in The Mandalorian

In recent weeks, we've learned of a number of familiar faces from the wider Star Wars Universe being added to the Disney+ series, including Ahsoka Tano, Captain Rex, Boba Fett, and maybe even Sabin Wren. Could The Empire Strikes Back baddie and one of Fett's fellow bounty hunters, Dengar, join them?

Pegg, who voiced the character in The Clone Wars, certainly hopes to make that happen.

"I’ve mentioned it a few times, but surely, if Taika and Favreau decide to bring Dengar into The Mandalorian, then I have some form [of experience] in the past having played him in Star Wars: Battlefront and The Clone Wars. So just saying," Pegg said, using Katee Sackhoff's Bo-Katan Kryze as an example. "I heard they just employed Katee Sackhoff to play a character that wasn’t in the movies but she played it before in a different Star Wars thing, so just saying."

Dengar made a blink and you'd miss it cameo appearance in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and we later learned that in order to greatly prolong his life, he left himself grotesquely deformed.

That's surely something a future chapter of The Mandalorian could touch on with Pegg in the role!

Take shuttle. Go to Tatooine. Kill Han, grab Leia, go to the Cantina, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over.

Woody Harrelson would be a great Dengar.

@BrieLarson - It is true. I did not remember. Although the "Han Solo a Star Wars story" is such a bad movie that it shouldn't be canon.

@Repian - solo is a great movie, people need to let go of their attachments and see it for what it was.

Sure. What the hell. Get every bounty hunter ever from Star Wars in this bitch. Let's get Zuckuss. Remember him? Max Rebo is coming back. It's a comeback special!

@Dredd97 - well after Jabba and most of his staff was blown up, I'm sure Max Rebo fell on hard times, so maybe he traded in his keyboard for a blaster, and he and Droopy McCool set out as bounty hunters? I'd watch the shit out of that show!

@TruePunishment - Now that, sir/madam, is a show I'd waste hours watching. As long as the Henson company helps again

@Dredd97 - I can't wait for the inevitable betrayal of Sy Snootles, causing Max and Droopy some great grief! (Carga)

@TruePunishment - That darn Sy Snootles. I sure hope Joh Yowza doesn't show up. We don't need that jizz wailing

@WatchTower616 - I agree that Dengar has a droid prosthesis. A rocket arm, a foot ... but this is excessively ridiculous.

@WatchTower616 - I honestly think this is exactly what would enable Pegg to play him now, it could be early on in his augmentation process, and the can the headwraps can be pretty forgiving

Unkar Plutt was a waste of Pegg and didn't really go anywhere. I'd love to see him get a substantial role

Simon Pegg always wants to be things in things. I can't blame him. Maybe I should be asking to be in things.

Because he has no real talent. All his movies are mediocre at best. Shaun of the Dead was so boring I walked out of the theatre. The message he was trying to tell with At World's End was told in a much better way in Romero's Dawn of the Dead, and his comment about Marvel movies having no emotional substance or depth is ridiculous. The balcony scene in Doctor Strange and the conversations between Natasha and Steve in Winter Soldier are far more emotional than anything he could ever come up with.

@Kiwiavenger - The recent Mission Impossible movies and the first two new Star Trek movies are far from mediocre.
