Carl Weathers is stepping behind the camera for season two of The Mandalorian, but he will also return to cross paths with Din Djarin as Greef Karga. While they appeared to strike up something of an unlikely friendship last year, it sounds like the titular bounty hunter still needs to watch his back.
Talking in the video below, Weathers says, "[Greef Karga] is back and having fun doing what he does - being duplicitous. I know where his allegiance lies, it lies with himself."
That doesn't necessarily mean that Karga will betray Din and the Child, but he might not have their best interests at heart. Obviously, we're going to have to wait and see, but Weathers would later add that he enjoys the mystery that surrounds his character.
"I personally like the fact that he doesn't divulge a lot about himself because I think, in some ways, the less you know, the more interested you are in knowing, and Greef plays things pretty close to the vest."
"In the episode I directed, we hint that there may be some ulterior motives in Greef's desires and what he's after [and] his goals, and I personally think that's more than enough."
Weathers also praised the episode he directed as being a "magnificent" experience for him.

Some fans have criticised the decision to have Din Djarin and The Child return to Tatooine so soon (especially when there are plenty of new planets to explore), but given the way the episode ended, this was a must. It's also fun to explore a different side of the planet away from the Skywalker family.
As many of you have already noticed, Cobb Vanth destroying that speeder full of mining guild members was a reference to 2008's Iron Man when Tony Stark destroyed a tank in a similar fashion. Interestingly, the Cobb in the second piece of artwork looks exactly like the classic Boba Fett.
This adorable meeting between the Child and one of Tatooine's creatures definitely should have made it into the finished episode, but him hiding in that pot was every bit of cute. In the second piece, we see Din Djarin and Cobb Vanth getting to know each other as the Sand People watch on.
Given how murderous the Sand People have always been portrayed as being, it's been a pleasant surprise to learn that they're maybe not as bad as they seem in The Mandalorian. They certainly appear to be able to relate to Din Djarin, and are likely to be fleshed out in the Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series.
Boba Fett's big return was translated from concept art to screen perfectly, but fans still have a lot of big questions about why the bounty hunter is tracking Din Djarin and how he'll factor into season two. There are clearly big plans in place for the fan-favourite villain, so we'll just have to wait and see.
