THE MANDALORIAN Star Emily Swallow Was "Disappointed" By Your Finale Fan Theories About The Armorer

Many of us suspected The Armorer might be revealed as a traitor in The Mandalorian's recent season 3 finale, and actress Emily Swallow responded to the theories after one fan reached out to apologise.

Heading into The Mandalorian's season 3 finale, it's fair to say we all had some pretty strong opinions about where the show was taking us.

For the most part, "The Return" was light on shocking twists and actually felt more like a series finale that set the stage for The Mandalorian to get a fresh start when that fourth batch of episodes hit Disney+ sometime in the next couple of years.

However, the most popular fan theory revolved around The Armorer. Based on her quick escape from Mandalore and the fact Moff Gideon was decked out in a near-identical helmet, the prevailing theory online was that she must be in cahoots with the Imperial and was, in fact, biding her time to betray Din Djarin and Bo-Katan Kryze. After all, uniting these clans and bringing them to Mandalore to be destroyed by Gideon seemed a suitably dastardly plot for such an enigmatic character!

In reality, The Armorer proved herself a hero, fighting alongside Bo-Katan against the Empire before allowing Din to officially adopt Grogu. A villain she is not, and actress Emily Swallow has now shared her thoughts on the theory (via SFFGazette.com)

As you can see below in a recent response to a fan on Twitter, she said: "I'm not mad. Just disappointed."

We're sure these comments are (mostly) being made in jest, but we could understand if Swallow is a little hurt after we all came to the conclusion that The Armorer was about to betray her people and be outed as one of The Mandalorian's most despicable villains!

This character's story is bound to continue in season 4 and, now she's in charge of Mandalore's giant forge, we're sure there will be lots more warriors decked out in Beskar before too long thanks to her.

Take a look at Swallow's Tweet below.

Ok this is almost definitely a joke. Like, what would she be offended by?

@Origame - Die hard fans who were convinced she was the traitor in this season's story. She's disappointed fans cared so little of the Armorer's loyalty for the sake of a random twist. Just like how fans can't accept that Luke in TLJ is the same Luke from the OT.

@mastakilla39 - 1) this twist can totally work if done right and in character. Hell, tie this into another fan theory that says technically Luke skywalker is the rightful owner of the darksaber, her betrayal could be viewed as maintaining the ways of her culture and going against a leader who doesn't have the right to lead them.

2) what happened with Luke in tlj could've been accepted if the movie earned it with proper development that makes it work. However, all that development happened before the movie and is very rushed.

if I wore cheap plastic stormtrooper armor from the disney store and somebody hit me with a hammer as hard as they can, I still feel like the plastic would absorb most of the impact and I could still aim a gun at that person

I love that there was no traitor. All Mandalorians held together and now their society can be reborn. I'm really excited to see it grow as the franchise progresses.

I still think she might be a night-sister utilizng the Mandalorians for her gains (or even Ventress herself)

I kinda figured she was maybe a Death Watch member that once sided with Maul and something similar was the case with Gideon, but never that they were related in some way.

I liked this season it was good. I knew the whole time the Armorer wouldn’t betray Mando and Katan. It’d be way out of character for that character.
