Deadline reveals that PEN15 star and co-creator Maya Erskine is the latest addition to Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Unfortunately, there's no word on who the Scoob! actress will play, but the trade has been able to confirm that she will have a supporting role in at least three episodes. It's not surprising that casting details are being kept under wraps because outside of a few familiar faces, no character details whatsoever have been shared by Disney and Lucasfilm.
Erskine has been nominated for multiple WGA Awards over the course of her career, and even landed an Emmy nomination for her work on PEN15 back in 2019.
"The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Kenobi faced his greatest defeat," reads the Obi-Wan Kenobi synopsis, "the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned evil Sith Lord Darth Vader."
The cast includes Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie. We don't know when exactly Obi-Wan Kenobi will premiere on Disney+, but 2022 is likely.
Erskine wasn't mentioned in the original cast announcement, which you can check out below:
