TNT's two-hour premiere of "Falling Skies" drew a healthy 5.9 million viewers Sunday night, making it cable's top new series debut of the year. The show is about an alien invasion of Earth that stars Noah Wyle, drew 2.6 million in the 18-49 demo and 3.2 million in adults 25-54.
"The enormous success of 'Falling Skies' demonstrates what can happen when you partner with the best people in the business and give them what they need to do their very best work," said TNT exec VP Michael Wright.
Stephen Spielberg is also a producer and the series will now move to its normal 10 p.m. Sunday timeslot.
