VENOM 3 Adds SUPERNATURAL And THE CHANGELING Star Clark Backo To Cast Of Upcoming Threequel

Venom 3 resumed shooting last year after the Hollywood strikes and the cast continues to expand, this time with the addition of Clark Backo (Letterkenny). Find everything we know about her role right here!

Variety reveals that Clark Backo, best known for starring in Letterkenny and The Changeling, has joined Tom Hardy in Sony Pictures' Venom 3.

Unfortunately, character details are being kept under wraps so we currently have no idea who the actress will play in the Marvel threequel. Still, Backo is an exciting addition to an already impressive ensemble.

Backo most recently starred as Emma opposite LaKeith Stanfield on Apple TV+ limited series The Changeling, a series which was created and executive produced by Venom 3 director Kelly Marcel. The filmmaker also served as showrunner on the drama which has a 74% Rotten Tomatoes score.

Marcel wrote Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage but steps into the director's chair for this third instalment.

You may also remember Backo from Supernatural (she was also briefly linked to the short-lived spin-off series Wayward Sisters after appearing in a backdoor pilot), The Handmaid's Tale, and Designated Survivor. In terms of movie roles, she's appeared in I Want You Back and Seven in Heaven. Venom 3 is by far her biggest role, however, and we're intrigued to see whether she's playing a character from the comic books.

The actress is repped by Fatmata Kamara, Linden Entertainment, The Lede Company and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole.

Shortly before Venom 3 was announced, Hardy shared some insights into what he's hoping to see from a third instalment.

"These things [usually] come in threes. If there's going to be a new one - and they depend heavily on the success of each individual one, so you can't count on them ever happening again - every one has got to be as if it was the last one."

"But I think it's really important, if you go into something, thinking that one, two and three are the same...the same story, the same film. So that you don't surprise yourself by being caught out by suddenly having to do a third from nowhere. There's got to be some continuity into a third and fourth and fifth, and if somebody says 'no', that's fine. Let it go, and you move on to something else."

Chiwetel Ejiofor (Doctor Strange) and Juno Temple (Ted Lasso) have both nabbed lead roles in the threequel, though there's still no word on who either of them is playing. As well as returning as Eddie Brock/Venom, Hardy co-wrote Venom 3's story with Marcel before she penned the screenplay.

Produced by Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, and Hutch Parker, Venom 3 is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on November 8, 2024.

Letterkenney is easily her most recognizable role, but ya went with *has to look at headline again* wayward sisters?

@SATW42 - I had to look up who she was on SPN, turns out she was one of the lesser known characters on the second failed spin-off (no slight against her, obviously).

Man SPN had some messed up spin-off attempts. Bloodlines was essentially a retread of “The Originals” (even had one of the Mikaelson siblings as a lead), “Wayward Sisters” felt like a solid idea but went nowhere and the one that theCW ultimately picked to series was a canon breaker set in an alternate reality.

Ghostfacers remains the best spin-off, even if that was a web series

@TheVisionary25 - That was a Supernatural potential spin-off that didn't get picked up by CW. Think it would have been a lot better than "The Winchesters" that CW did go forward with.

@KWilly - Personally I would have done the Venom Trilogy differently.

Venom (Spider-Man)
Venom 2 (Carnage)
Venom 3 (Knull)

But I guess they are using more Venom related villains, Jack O'Lantern would have been cool.

Here's what is going to happen.

1) We won't see any trailers or anything for Venom.
2) Kraven will flop.
3) Sony will announce delays to Venom 3
4) Venom 3's new release date will be July 2025, extensive "re-shoots" will be occurring
5) Sony will shock everyone by revealing that Andrew Garfield's Spider-man is returning in Venom 3 and will play a prominent role

• Andrew Garfield reprising his role in Venom 3 would make it the most hyped movie of 2025

• Tom Holland would reprise as Spider-man in Spider-man 4 in May 2026, taking the slot previously held by Avengers 5.

Release schedules would alter to something like this:
• Captain America 4 - May 2025
• Venom 3 - July 2025
• Thunderbolts - November 2025

• Fantastic Four - February 2026
• Spider-man 4 - May 2026
• Blade - October 2026

Not familiar with her work but did want to check out “The Changeling” since it looked intriguing imo but never got around to it (had no idea Kelly Marcel showran & wrote it).

If anyone saw the show , how was it?.

Anyway , i wish her well but I genuinely have no interest in this as of now…

I didn’t care for the first one and the second one was even a bit worse imo.
