Since there were unfinished effects in the SDCC trailer for Venom, we probably shouldn't expect it online for a few more weeks, but for those that can't wait, a leaked photo has made its way online...

Even though Marvel Studios sat out San Diego Comic-Con, there's still a very strong possibility that a Marvel movie ends up being the most-talked-about trailer of the weekend.

A new trailer for Ruben Fleischer's Venom debuted last night and was met with a thunderous response from the audience as Sony Pictures finally unleashed the titular antihero (Tom Hardy), who promptly proceeded to deliver brutal beatdowns to a variety of villains, human and symbiote alike, and closed out his showcase by eating a guy's head clean off his body.

Well, actually, it probably wasn't clean.

Unfortunately, that trailer isn't expected to be released online for at least a few more weeks since there are VFX shots that still need to be completed, but one fan has taken it upon himself (or herself) to snap a photo of the titular beast - and he looks quite terrifying as he smiles down at his latest victim.

One of Marvel's most enigmatic, complex and badass characters comes to the big screen, starring Academy Award® nominated actor Tom Hardy as the lethal protector Venom.

Venom features:
Director: Ruben Fleischer
Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom
Riz Ahmed in an undisclosed role
Michelle Williams in an undisclosed role
Jenny Slate in an undisclosed role
Reid Scott in an undisclosed role
Scott Haze in an undisclosed role
Woody Harrelson in an undisclosed role
Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man (rumored)

Venom unleashes in theaters October 5

Those descriptions eased some of my worries, even without Spidey this might be good or even great. I trust Hardy lol

I don't know...honestly I could never get into venom, besides his cool design he just never seemed to have anything going for him. Venom is very much a product of his times back in the 90s when everything was edgy for the sake of it. I think someone involved in this film said Venom is spidermans joker and I could help but laugh because that's obviously Green Goblin and always has been. Everyone on this film is trying to make venom a thing but without his mirror opposite (Spider-Man) it just doesn't work for me.

@CurlyBill - Yeah, I've never really seen the appeal for the character. Topher Grace didn't help at all either. He's not even a top 5 Spider-Man villain, IMO.

@L0RDbuckethead - Spider-man has so many great villians with really rich backstorys and compared to characters like Kraven or Osborn, Venom just never held up to them. I don't mind mirror villians like Reverse Flash but when they try to make them the exact same like Eddie Brock (being a journalist just like Peter but cooler) it just seems so lazy.

@CurlyBill - Yeah it just takes the mirror image of the hero trope and beats it into the ground. Don't get me wrong, he's a great addition to an already stacked rogues gallery for Spidey, I just have never understood the love for the character. Agent Venom stuff is pretty cool though.
