VENOM Is Ready To Rip Heads In A Wicked New Photo From The Upcoming Tom Hardy-Led Spinoff

Sony Pictures has just debuted another awesome new photo from their upcoming Tom Hardy-starrer, Venom, this time featuring the titular antihero getting ready to rip someone's head clean off their body.

One of the most talked about scenes coming out of Comic-Con was a brutal shot of Venom (Tom Hardy) devouring a thug's head and while the recent trailer also featured the same scene as its tag, it's believed to be a slightly abbreviated version of what was shown to the SDCC audience, meaning there's still a lot more wickedness to come when the Spider-Man spinoff roars into theaters this October.

Entertainment Weekly has shared a cool new still from the Ruben Fleischer-directed film, featuring the titular antihero looming large over an evildoer. They also caught up with Hardy, who offered some more insight
on the dynamic between Eddie Brock and the symbiote that's using his body as a host.

They’re a bit lost in this world, and finding each other and negotiating an ethical framework is perhaps a gift and a burden for the two of them. They bring out the very best and the very worst in each other.

One of Marvel's most enigmatic, complex and badass characters comes to the big screen, starring Academy Award® nominated actor Tom Hardy as the lethal protector Venom.

Venom features:
Director: Ruben Fleischer
Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom
Michelle Williams as Anne Weying
Riz Ahmed as Carlton Drake/Riot
Scott Haze in an undisclosed role
Reid Scott in an undisclosed role
Jenny Slate in an undisclosed role
Woody Harrelson in an undisclosed role

Venom unleashes in theaters October 5

@Iports - no spider on the chest though... Lame. Until I see that spider on the, this isn't Venom.

@csims1885 - I am willing to accept that the symbol may appear in time. My two cents...

I am assuming this is the last scene of the movie seeing as they say ”We are Venom” together and he seems to be stopping small crimes.

@Knightrider - I won't be surprised if that turns out to be the case.

@Knightrider - This is also my theory. I think the scene with Brock they show after that is from early in the film after he gets the symbiote and is feeling really ill. The lady just doesn’t look shook enough when he looks at her and says he has a paracite. Then the scene with the crook is the last scene of the film. He’s comfortable being Venom and doing his lethal protector thing. He goes to bite his head off, and then shot of him going in for the bite is the last scene, and they cut to black right there.

Such a good design...Shame it's being wasted outside the MCU.

@SobecKing - Right? Everyone would have been freaking out if this was the look in a Spider-Man sequel

@BlackBeltJones - I agree. That guy was a terrible choice for this scene. I wish he looked terrified like he was shitting himself.

CG looks bad for this movie.

I'm honestly surprised this will be PG-13. Guess they didn't wanna take the rated R risk and lose out on some money.

@KWilly - Slender Man is PG-13. So was The Ring, The Grudge, A Quiet Place, Drag Me to Hell, Insidious, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Mama, Happy Death Day, The Sixth Sense, Split. Could they have been R? Probably, but you have to admit the R rating is unnecessary sometimes.

Gosh, this design is horrible (and the cgi). Even BossLogic would make a better design:

Raimi's Venom wasn't too hot, but it blows this one out the water (which isn't saying much). Can it be that hard to get Venom's look right? He's easy to translate well to film.
