Venom was a box office hit, but fans and critics found plenty to dislike about the Sony Pictures movie. Visually, the symbiote did look pretty cool, even though that iconic symbol was missing from his chest (this can be blamed on Spider-Man not being the alien's original host in that reality).
Now, Venom concept artist and Look Development Lead Matt Millard has shared some of his early designs for the anti-hero inspired by Mark Bagley's comic book work.
While the artist is best known for Ultimate Spider-Man, he also illustrated many of Venom's early adventures in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man. This take on the big screen version of the character appears to have taken inspiration from both titles, and is a very cool interpretation of Eddie Brock's other.
Based on what we saw in the first trailer for Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Venom hasn't been overhauled or redesigned to any large degree. However, it is possible that after his clash with Cletus Kasady, the alien will evolve in some way (though we're betting if that is the plan, it won't be until Venom meets Spider-Man).
