people are only going to go see this because:
1. Aaron Paul coming off hot from Breaking Bad
2. People expecting to see another Fast and Furious movie.
3. They are dumb, and will see anything.

This movie looks like sh!t

I like Aaron Paul but it looks like it is trying way to hard.
Movies based off Games are hard. Especially when that game doesn't really have a solid story. They games are just driving around and moding your car. It will not work as a good film but it will probably make money based on the 3 points i made above.

Enphlieuwince, what did I see in 2.5 mins that didn't look shit is a better question.

A silly, cliched plot that's been does about 150 times before. Crappy macho posturing and worse dialogue. Cheesy crap like the "your momma" line. The final shot of the car hanging from the copter with the "You so crazy..I love you!" (or it, not a lot of difference) followed by the shot of Paul laughing like a [frick]ing drooling moron.

Yeah, not my cuppa tea.

ugghhh like what Dandy says, theres A LOT of bad history with video game movies...I honestly cant think of one that was decent. That being said I will reserve jusgement on this movie, just because I like Aaron Paul.

Wasnt there a Need for Speed game that they made to be like a movie? And I think Michael Bay directed a trailer for it.

I don't expect much from movies like this. It looks fun. Hope it does well. Aaron Paul deserves to be a star.

I'm excited. This looks to actually have a darker tone than the f&f films. Plus I've enjoyed both trailers so far, no reason not to give the movie a shot.

I like Aaron Paul. I like Dominic Cooper...and I was willing to give this the benefit of the doubt...but then they carried a moving car away with an army helicopter. Now I don't know what to think..

Enphlieuwince, I never said the movie WILL be sit, I said it LOOKS shit based on this trailer..that's not judging a book by its cover. You asked what about THIS TRAILER I found shit and I told you.
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 11/18/2013, 11:48 AM
But yes based on this trailer I wouldn't even watch it on dvd to be honest, because it doesn't look like my type of movie..ie, not shit!

who ever says and thinks this is going to be a rip off of fast n furious is just dumb
this is based off one of the best video game franchises out there NEED FOR SPEED
unlike fast n furious we will actually SEE some damn RACES for once...in this movie
this makes me want to play the damn game
i sense need for speed hot pursuit mixed with need for speed the RUN!
but yeah this movie is going to be sick
im glad they are doing it cause its different from fast n furious people just need to realize that

Some of this newest trailer looks like straight B-movie crap, and Kid Cudi acting? I guess we'll see if he can do it but I'm skeptical.

I just want a good-enough REAL car movie. Give me Bullitt, Vanishing Point, French Connection style realistic car-driving and I'll be happy, even if it's a B-movie.

Haha

@rormachine and 113

You have obviously never played a need for speed game. If you had you would realise that is exactly what you should expect.

Its not shit, some people enjoy the games, sure they may not be the highest art to you, but I think they great fun.

Don't you ever get tired of nitpicking every little thing about movies and trying to be so relevant.

Just enjoy the movie. Sometimes its good to turn off your brain once and while.

Gnyah123@ I see absolutely nothing in the trailer that makes it appear to be different than anything I have already seen in a F&F film, except the lead is pretty wimpy looking to be playing a badass. :-p
yonny616
yonny616 - 11/18/2013, 12:25 PM
You guy bashing the movie are acting like you expected a ground breaking trailer. It's a movie base on a video game whose main protagonist is a CAR!

This is what Need for Speed is suppose to be! Over-the-top action with street racing and a simple plot.

113 - 11/18/2013, 12:26 PM
@kalelrules - nice username btw, I agree with it.

Dude, I grew up on NFS games, I've always enjoyed them.

But we're talking about the MOVIE space, not video game space. We have enough outlandish car-chase movies, I want car chases that are a little bit more grounded than what we see in F&F, or Bad Boys, or any other blockbuster movie like those.

If I want to watch car flipping every 2 seconds in a ball of fire I'd watch any of those other movies and/or actually play Need for Speed. But as of right now, from what I've seen, there is nothing compelling enough about this to make me spend ~$10 to go see it.
