The first trailer for Need For Speed gives off more of a Batman vibe than a Fast and Furious knockoff. Is that a good thing or bad thing? The film was written by George and John Gatins and helmed by stunt man turned director, Scott Waugh. Paul plays Tobey, a driving savant recently released from prison and out for revenge against the person who framed him. The Breaking Bad star previously told Entertainment Weekly, “This set was different than anything I’ve been on. You’re walking through a very thick cloud of testosterone. It’s really a throwback to the Steve McQueen era of car movies. I think people are going to be pleasantly surprised.” Need For Speed also stars Imogen Poots, Michael Keaton, Rami Malek, and Nick Chinlund. Need For Speed will debut on US theaters on March 14, 2014.
Framed for a crime he didn’t commit, muscle car mechanic and street racer Tobey (Aaron Paul) gets out of prison determined to settle the score with the man responsible for his false conviction. Tobey tears up the road in a gritty cross-country journey— one that begins as a mission for revenge, but proves to be one of redemption. DreamWorks Pictures’ “Need for Speed” is directed by Scott Waugh (“Act of Valor”), and also stars Dominic Cooper, Ramon Rodriguez, Rami Malek, Imogen Poots, Dakota Johnson and Scott Mescudi. |
