THE LAST OF US: Bill & Frank Take The Spotlight In The New Promo For Episode 3: "Long, Long Time" - SPOILERS

After an explosive conclusion to episode two, Joel & Ellie continue their journey West and it looks like the next stop of their long tip will take them to Bill, who we'll be learning a lot more about...

The Last of Us episode two finally unveiled the clickers and they were every bit as terrifying as we'd been hoping for as Joel (Pedro Pascal), Ellie (Bella Ramsey), and Tess (Anna Torv) found themselves fighting for their lives against a pair of infected that were eager to take a bite out of our heroes... and, unfortunately, they succeeded.

As expected, Tess was bitten by one of the monsters and, in an explosive departure from the game, chose to sacrifice herself to give Joel & Ellie enough time to escape from the horde that was coming their way.

With Tess' final words - "Save who you can save." - resonating in his ears, Joel decides to continue their mission and take Ellie West, and it looks like their next pit stop will take them to Bill (Nick Offerman). While we know how the episode should play out, based on the new promo, it looks like we'll be getting a lot more backstory on the survivalist and his relationship with Frank (Murray Bartlett).

Check out the new preview for season one, episode three:

Plus, check out the featurette for episode two and the episode podcast:

The Last of Us features Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Gabriel Luna as Tommy, Anna Torv as Tess, Nico Parker as Sarah, Murray Bartlett as Frank, Nick Offerman as Bill, Storm Reid as Riley, Merle Dandridge as Marlene, Jeffrey Pierce as Perry, Lamar Johnson as Henry, Keivonn Woodard as Sam, Graham Greene as Marlon, Elaine Miles as Florence, and Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker.

THE LAST OF US story takes place twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.

Finally! As a big fan of the game, I respect the liberties they're taking with adding to the lore and how the world works. The ending was different, but also the same in a way. And it was supposed to be disturbing. The last of us subreddit is full of idiots! If I hear one more clown say cRiNgE I'm gonna stick my tendrils somewhere! The podcast and after episode bts explains certain liberties that were taken. 10 stars!

@bobevanz - Exactly.
This is a film/television ADAPTATION of the game.
If fans of the game want no changes and a perfect translation, then they might as well just play the game and stick to that.

Even the best live action film translations have to tweak things here and there.

@NotchJohnson - I'm convinced the majority of Reddit is dumbass 14 year Olds that have no clue what makes a show great. They'd rather have 40 minutes of walking around aimlessly and looting for comic books lol

@bobevanz - You're not wrong. Somehow it's gonna be more of a hellscape than it already is.

Will be interesting to finally see Frank fully realized and have his story expanded upon.

About to watch episode 2.

Episode 1 was solid, but I actually preferred the games take on Sarah's death, how the camera shifts and when it goes back to Sarah she's dead. I didn't like that in they show they cut from Sarah gasping then cut back and she's dead. Just felt different. Felt more impactful to me in the game. And the drive from the house to the city was a one shot, past the hospital, and the family and the burning house and the freeway into the city before the crash.... that all being a one shot lived in moment from Sarah's perspective really is what sells the intensity, and that they couldn't find a way to practically recreate that with the pacing and focus and attention to details the game had made the show kinda feel not as epic as I know the material is un video game form.

Then the first episode zipped by chunks of the beginning of the game way quicker than I was expecting. I was sorta expecting the first episode to be Sarah's and Joel's episode and end with her death. Then episode 2 starting 20 years later, or the 20 Years Later happening at the very end and the episode ends with him burning the infected kid with the shoes. But that they then introduced The Fireflies and Tess and the Robert story and introduced Ellie and got her with Joel and they know about Ellie being special already.... they really sped through.

Now like I said, it wasn't done badly. It was all very very well done. Just not what I imagined or maybe would have preferred.

Still great first episode. About to watch episode 2.

That was pretty intense, great make-up work on the clickers too...I have no idea what that "kiss" thing at the end was, though.

Anyway, looking forward to the next episode, from what we heard they adapted Bill's story quite different from the game.

PS: completely sold on Ellie already, she might not look like the character, but THAT'S ELLIE.

@KingPatel

For some time, you have been my favorite content writer & reviewer on this site.

However, I call MAJOR foul ball on this article.

You dropped a GIGANTIC spoiler in the article. If there had been a spoiler alert tag, I would not have even clicked on it.

Angry...but it happens... Peace.
