Synopsis:The following episode represents director Kevin Tancharoen's "different take on the Mortal Kombat universe," combining the perfect amount of gritty realism mixed with a hint of mysticism... When Lord Raiden, God of Thunder and protector of Earth, finds himself in an earthly mental institution in the year 2011, his 'delusions' are treated with some rather primitive forms of therapy (involving an ECT machine and an ice pick). Nonetheless, Blue, his beautiful, fragile yet insane fellow inmate, is Raiden's only hope of escaping the mental hospital and making his way to the Mortal Kombat tournament to defend Earthrealm from Shao Khan.



This is one that I've been waiting for! I think it is EXCELLENT, y favorite one by far! Ryan Robbins portrayal of Raiden is sick, excellent acting, excellent effects! What do you all think?

Raiden seem less of a god in this. More of a man then anything! I mean damn just break out already. I rather see Raiden in his throne, looking down at earth, trying 2 see who's the best fighters for the sake of earth, not some guy walking stealing hats! Why is he so damn short, he does not give me that I'm god of thunder feel.

Comedian03@ Thats what i gathered from this episode too but i were just asking cause i thought that these episodes were supposed to tell the origins of all Mortal Kombat characters?
But apparently this is not the case?

I played the MK games, but never went into depth to know the character's origins. And I'm not sure how accurate the movies were either.

But maybe this is part of his origin? Showing how he gets to earth and gets to the tournament. Maybe later they'll go in to depth why he's come to fight?

Either way I thought it was bad ass. Had it's moments where it reminded me of Thor & Sucker Punch, BUT how bad ass was the scene where the two guards tazed him and he basicaly got a charge out of it?

I actually really liked that take. It's almost a darker version of Ultimate Thor. I really liked that they throw in the whole he's weakened in human form idea, and that the tasers were actually charging him up. I was actually wating for them to do electro shock therapy and him break out.

Why is there a lot of complaining, Dam this isn't Smallville mix ups. If just a completely different take. Especially for a web series this is pretty decent. Way better then the crappy MK 2 movie!

the episode is alright but why the hell Raiden is so weak. it does feel like i just watched Thor all over again at least they gave him a reason why he lost his powers.

also why Raiden got blue blood.

u know u fail u post a pic of Raiden from the MK video game but the guy who did the motion capture of the character was a white guy the first place "Carlos Pesina"

In retrospect, I don't get why all the complaints are dealing with Raiden being white instead of him appearing as a mental case. Seriously, gods are above humanity's ideas of race and nationality; just look at Thor, they have an Asian guy and Black guy among these Scadinavian gods.

Any way, this series is coming out pretty good; the last 2 episodes weren't in my opinion good. All I can say is, that Raiden and Thor are officially alike.
