MORTAL KOMBAT Star Joe Taslim Hints At An Appearance From Noob Saibot - Possible SPOILERS

We know Sub-Zero will have a prominent role in the upcoming Mortal Kombat reboot, but what about Noob Saibot?

As any fan of the long-running video game series will be aware, Bi-Han - the original Sub-Zero - was resurrected as the shadowy ninja by Quan Chi after meeting his end in the first game, and the undead version of the character went on to become a fan-favourite fighter.

During an interview with Collider, Sub-Zero actor Joe Taslim (The Raid, The Night Comes For Us) strongly hinted that his take on the icy ninja would indeed become Noob Saibot at some point.

"It's not a secret that Quan Chi took the humanity inside of Bi-Han and turned him into Noob Saibot," said the actor, before suggesting that the "pitch black" side of his character would ultimately become more prominent.

It's far from confirmation, but we'd say there's a decent chance Noob Saibot will appear - even if it's just to set up a potential sequel.

In Mortal Kombat, MMA fighter Cole Young, accustomed to taking a beating for money, is unaware of his heritage—or why Outworld's Emperor Shang Tsung has sent his best warrior, Sub-Zero, an otherworldly Cryomancer, to hunt Cole down. Fearing for his family's safety, Cole goes in search of Sonya Blade at the direction of Jax, a Special Forces Major who bears the same strange dragon marking Cole was born with.

Soon, he finds himself at the temple of Lord Raiden, an Elder God and the protector of Earthrealm, who grants sanctuary to those who bear the mark. Here, Cole trains with experienced warriors Liu Kang, Kung Lao and rogue mercenary Kano, as he prepares to stand with Earth’s greatest champions against the enemies of Outworld in a high stakes battle for the universe. But will Cole be pushed hard enough to unlock his arcana—the immense power from within his soul—in time to save not only his family, but to stop Outworld once and for all?

Mortal Kombat is set for a simultaneous release in theaters and on HBO Max this April 12.

So many possibilities for the post credit stringer to literally break the internet.
Maybe Noob appearance
Maybe Johnny Cage appearance (with a A List Star)

I would definitely be excited if they introduced Noob to the film franchise. They did it poorly in Annihilation when Ermac fighting Sonya somehow summoned a Noob clone.

But to see the struggle between Kuai Luang and Scorpion due to the death of Bi-Han would be epic. He would still think that Bi-Han is alive only to find out its his younger brother.

And then seeing Quan Chi playing both of them from the shadows since he was also responsible for the death of the Shirai Ryu.

I have no idea who this character is, but from what I know from the lore I'm surprised I don't know him. Seems like a pretty important part to the overall story.

@bkmeijer - His first appearance is actually in the second game but as a secret character. Considering this was back in the day when game secrets were passed around by word of mouth /gaming magazines it's not surprising to not know much about him from this time.

@Himura - yeah that makes sense. I'm wasn't old enough playing MK back then. My interest probably only started around MKX, and thus I know next to nothing about the old timeline games

Well it would make sense to see Sub-Zero die here and then be ressurected into Noob Saibot in a post credit scene. Although the Quan-Chi plot would logically take some time to come up if this movie adapts MK1.

@Blergh - well I mean that was a reason that was only absent from the first game because no one knew about it then. Starting from the beginning means you can at least sew the seeds in now (kinda like Thanos in avengers) and then expand it later. They did that in mortal kombat legacy pretty well.

As long as it's ultra violent and doesn't stray too far from the source material yet throws enough new so the initiated don't know every thing coming, I'll be a happy camper.

My money’s on Noob being a post-credits tease.

I predicted this. They set sub zero as the big villain so only natural that he died at the end (or middle) of this movie. Giving way to noob saibot
Seeing noob on screen, using his shadow to fight foes would be so glorious
