The official Mortal Kombat Twitter account has debuted the first four of what we assume will be a series of character promos spotlighting the various warriors who will take part in the lethal tournament.

The video clips are very brief, but do provide some new shots of popular kombatants Jax Briggs (Mehcad Brooks), the hero of the initial arcade game Liu Kang (Ludi Lin), former Shaolin Monk Kung Lao (Max Huang), and Outworld's very own God of Thunder, Raiden (Tadanobu Asano).

The video game reboot was recently pushed back from April 16 to April 23, so expect to see a lot more of these over the next few weeks.

In “Mortal Kombat,” MMA fighter Cole Young, accustomed to taking a beating for money, is unaware of his heritage—or why Outworld's Emperor Shang Tsung has sent his best warrior, Sub-Zero, an otherworldly Cryomancer, to hunt Cole down. Fearing for his family's safety, Cole goes in search of Sonya Blade at the direction of Jax, a Special Forces Major who bears the same strange dragon marking Cole was born with. Soon, he finds himself at the temple of Lord Raiden, an Elder God and the protector of Earthrealm, who grants sanctuary to those who bear the mark.
Here, Cole trains with experienced warriors Liu Kang, Kung Lao and rogue mercenary Kano, as he prepares to stand with Earth’s greatest champions against the enemies of Outworld in a high stakes battle for the universe. But will Cole be pushed hard enough to unlock his arcana—the immense power from within his soul—in time to save not only his family, but to stop Outworld once and for all?

Mortal Kombat is set for a simultaneous release in theaters and on HBO Max this April 23.

@DrThomasWayne - The closer we get to the release date, the less I look forward to this movie. I hope the film is better than the marketing.

Lol, so apparently only 36% of viewers finished ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’ in its First Week.

@dragon316 - Hahaha, instantly started 'whataboutisming' on Marvel. You're as predictable as the day of the week order.

@dragon316 - almost everyone?
Also, I don’t know about you but generally when people go for a restroom break, they come back after and finish the movie. Don’t see how restroom breaks apply here.

The honest argument is that Snyder’s movie is crazy long and maybe they will plan to finish it in more than one sitting. That doesn’t mean they weren’t liking the movie, maybe they just couldn’t sit that long watching ANY movie

@Nerdman3000 - In a theater you can't pause a movie and come back to it later.

If 1 Black Dragon survives this I hope it's Kabal instead of Kano. His story is really good, specially if they want to introduce Stryker later on.
