The world's favourite blue hedgehog returns for a next-level adventure in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 next month, and after settling in Green Hills, Sonic is eager to prove he has what it takes to be a true hero. However, he'll be put to the test when Dr. Robotnik (a.k.a. Doctor Eggman) returns, this time with a new partner, Knuckles, in search for an emerald that has the power to destroy civilizations.
Teaming up with his own sidekick, Tails, they embark on a globe-trotting journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.
Paramount Pictures has today released a final trailer (via GameFragger.com) for the movie that features heaps of action and some major teases about the aforementioned emerald and the immense power it holds. The main focus, though, is on Sonic's battle with Knuckles, and it's clear both the iconic SEGA speedster and Tails will have their hands full if they hope to overcome this deadly new adversary.
The movie looks like an absolute blast, and after 2019's Sonic the Hedgehog exceeded everyone's expectations and proved itself a pitch-perfect big screen take on this character, excitement is high.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 stars James Marsden, Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, and Jim Carry, alongside new additions Shemar Moore, with Idris Elba as the voice of Knuckles, and Colleen O'Shaughnessey as the voice of Tails.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is set to be released in theaters on April 8.
