Sonic the Hedgehog is now available on Digital HD platforms everywhere, becoming the latest film in a long line of films to make their digital debuts earlier than anticipated. However, in Sonic's case, its digital release was only pushed up by a few weeks rather than a few months.

If you're a fan waiting for the physical launch, the film is currently slated to arrive on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on May 19th.

The Jeff Fowler-directed video game movie adaptation, which starred Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation), James Marsden (X-Men) and Jim Carrey (Kidding), is currently the second highest-grossing film of the year, having earned over $306.8 million worldwide ($146M domestic; $160.7M foreign) on an estimated $95 million production budget, which should all but guarantee a sequel in the not-so-distant future.

The home video combo pack and digital release will both contain a wide variety of awesome special features, including exclusive audio commentary from director Jeff Fowler and star Ben Schwartz, never-before-seen deleted scenes, a hilarious blooper reel, the "Speed Me Up" music video and tons of making of featurettes that will take you behind the making of this movie and possibly offer a sneak preview of what comes next.

The movie that destroyed Birds of Prey. Saw BOP and it is terrible. Feminist propaganda gave it several positive reviews.

"Feminist propaganda gave it positive reviews"

Some people still don't know how Rotten Tomatoes works...shame.

And honestly, as someone who has seen both movies, they're both "fine". I'd give BOP a 6/10 and Sonic a 5/10. I probably enjoy BOP just a teeny bit more as I thought it was the funnier movie.

@mastakilla39 - Feminist propaganda? You've got issues, weirdo.

@regularmovieguy @tmp3 @Ronan3Accuser - I know how RT works, its just an aggregator. But come on:

I guess some just don't understand what propaganda means or like watching dumb shit

@mastakilla39 - A movie starring women isn't "feminist propaganda", dummy

@mastakilla39

The Last Jedi was reviewed very well. I didn’t like the movie but I’m not a dumbass who thinks it was reviewed well because “dae feminists”.

If you think there was a huge difference in quality from Sonic or BOP then idk what to tell ya.

Also, one question @mastakilla39

You ever see Alien or, um, any movie in the Terminator franchise? 👀
mastakilla39
mastakilla39 - 3/31/2020, 9:32 AM
@tmp3 - But if the 1st all female team up superhero movie is terrible on every level: writing, script, & editing because WB chose to gamble on gender rather than film making. Then critics only gave it a positive review so they won't be labeled as misogynistic or not supporting women in film making.

You do realize that is propaganda right? Dumbass!
mastakilla39
mastakilla39 - 3/31/2020, 9:35 AM
@regularmovieguy - Yes and you do realize Alien or Terminator is great because they weren't casting the actors or crew because of "gender" right?
mastakilla39
mastakilla39 - 3/31/2020, 9:39 AM
@regularmovieguy - But BOP & TLJ are in different situations. BOP was liked by critics and shunned by audiences, while TLJ was universally well regarded in both. If people show up to multiple viewings of Sonic and no 1 shows up to BOP even once, then it proves that aiming for a wider audience is better.

“If people show up to multiple viewings of Sonic and no 1 shows up to BOP even once, then it proves that aiming for a wider audience is better.”

This doesn’t make sense. I feel like I’m getting dumber just responding to you. But I think you mean “aiming for a wide audience is more profitable.”

If that’s what you meant you’d be right. If BoP was rated PG it probably would’ve made more money.

“ while TLJ was universally well regarded in both.”

Critics, yes. Audiences, divisive.

This was a good movie, perhaps the first truly GOOD video game adaptation. It’s up there with Silent Hill.

@SatsuiNoJXA - no I streamed it. But there was no chemistry at all between what was supposed to be the loving couple that Sonic moves in with. And it was because of the girl. She sucked. And her five head took me completely out of the movie.
