UNCHARTED: A New Adventure Awaits With Intriguing Promo Images For Sony's Video Game Adaptation

Following our first official look at Spider-Man actor Tom Holland (Avengers: Endgame, Chaos Walking) as Nathan Drake in Sony's upcoming Uncharted adaptation, the movie's Twitter account has shared a series of new promo stills.

The images don't feature Holland or any of his co-stars (well, we do see someone's arm!), but we do get a glimpse of some mysterious artefacts which may turn out to be integral to the plot.

Check out the pics below, and let us know if you can piece anything together.

Sony's adaptation will be set before the events of the first game and serve as an origin story for the beloved character, as Drake embarks on his first globe-trotting adventure alongside mentor Sully (Mark Wahlberg).

Travis Knight, Dan Trachtenberg, Shawn Levy, Seth Gordon, Neil Burger and David O. Russell were all attached to helm Uncharted at one time or another, before Venom's Ruben Fleischer was finally confirmed as director last March.

Uncharted will also star Antonio Banderas, Sophia Ali and Tati Gabrielle. The movie is (currently) set to hit theaters on July 16, 2021, so we may get a first teaser trailer fairly soon.

We don't have a lot of good adventure movies nowadays, so who knows maybe this will surprise us in a good way.

@calino2212 - Don't know that much about Uncharted franchise, but a chance to watch a traditional adventure/treasure hunt movie in cinemas seems just about one the most desirable things right now. Plus this thing has Tom Holland starring, so that also peaks my interest.

I'm really just looking forward to reading all the future comments about how a 15 minute fan film was better than the actual movie.

Games are some of the best I've ever played and I really really hope this movie doesn't suck.

I didn't like the casting for this film at all, but the costume and these stills look really good to me. I think the production value looks good so I'm keeping an open mind

I'm not particularly sold on Holland as Nate, but I'm really not sold on Wahlberg as Sully.

Travis Knight should have directed this, then again we'll get a stop motion film sooner so it's for the best. I have no faith in this

well, the key is cruciform, which is largely connected to the templars.

so, this is likely to be (at least in part) about the crusades.
always a fun and bloody part of history.

Meh. Not expecting much from this one, but if it has some good action set pieces it'll be a start.

I’m hoping this is good, there’s a lot of space between Nate meeting Sully in U3 and their appearance in Golden Abyss so pretty much anything goes. I just hope they don’t revisit the time before Sully in flashbacks, it wasn’t needed in the first 2 games (nor Golden Abyss) and it’s not needed now, it would just be wasting time.
