I realize it was shit quality but still that just looked like a cartoon to me. CGI should only ever be used to enhance something, it shouldn't dominate the screen. Avatar is the only movie I ever saw that worked by doing that.

My only hope was that this is directed by Duncan Jones, but honestly, it looks terrible

CGI is a-okay if a director needs it to create more ridiculous or implausible things that you cannot do with practical effects. Then again CGI is considered some horrid monster on the Internet (for some reason) so I guess I'm in the minority here.

I don't know a shit about Warcraft, but as a GA on this one it looks boring CGI animated, I never saw one real thing in it.

Is there like no security at these things anymore? I remember we couldn't get anything on AOU or Ant-Man but we've got pretty much everything with this con.

to be honest i can't figure out how the hell most of you guys could even come up with the conclusion that the movie effects looks bad. The only thing i could notice was unnutural wizard movement (he looked like he was animated). First of all - it's not HD, so you can't see any facial expression. Second of all - it's a comiccon footage, probably not finished.

i'll wait for the trailer to see what's going on with the effects.

just don't use that Hobbit butter effect on final product and everything will be cool ;)

Anyone can show CGI smash fest.

This trailer is doing exactly what it needs to do. It's showing the fanbase that they are telling the story of the first war and respecting the lore.

This is just the beginning.

You have to understand, the Orcs appearance in Warcraft have greatly intensified over the years so it's impossible to justify using conventional makeup and body suits to depict them.

jerryblake - 7/15/2015, 4:09 AM
actually it's not the wizard who is weirdly animated. The orc attacking the portal/gate/whatever movement looks weirdly unfinished (i needed second viewing)

I want to be that guy also to say it's probably not right yet to judge, but this looks like a video game cinematic. If this is truly the route they plan on going, count me out.

Might be another one for the video game movie trash bin.

Seriously, am I the only person who doesn't understand this intense hatred for CGI here?
