The Orcs Discuss The Benefits/Hazards Of Fel Magic In This First WARCRAFT Deleted Scene

Duncan Jones' Warcraft is coming to Blu-ray and DVD next month, and in this first deleted scene the seeds of civil war are sewn as Duotan, Ogrim and Blackhand have a little chat about Gul'dan's power...

Critics didn't really take to Warcraft, but I thought it had a lot of things going for it - in particular some well developed, interesting characters.

This first deleted scene from the upcoming Blu-ray is a fine example of that, as the "villains" sit around a fire discussing their leader's immensely powerful, but dangerous magic.

The peaceful realm of Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilization faces a fearsome race of invaders: Orc warriors fleeing their dying home to colonize another. As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction. From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people and their home. So begins a spectacular saga of power and sacrifice in which war has many faces, and everyone fights for something.

Warcraft hits 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, & DVD on September 27.

@pepe - I liked it a lot but I've been playing the games since Orcs vs. Humans, so I didn't need a lot of context. I could see how your average movie goer would have been absolutely confused, since even as a fan of the franchise I found the story to be pretty jumbled.

I also think that the human storyline was far less interesting, and less well performed, than the orc storyline, which greatly exceeded its sketchy CGI.

This seems to be the year of movies that while under performing, were really enjoyable.

There was a lot to like but I kept feeling like this movie started in the second act of a longer movie. As someone who didn't play the games nothing was explained as in like how the world or magic worked

Still my favorite movie of the year. I think the movie needed more Grom.

Worst movie of 2016 after Batman V. Superman.

This movie was phenomenal. From the get-go, it blew me away as I was expecting nothing more than a "fun" movie. However, while it is extremely fun on many occasions, it actually has genuine tension and well-developed, likable characters throughout (with all of the actors bringing a great wealth of charisma to the table as well). I can't believe how most critics hated this movie. It's not saying much, but this is by far the greatest video-game adaptation ever. So much heart and soul went into this movie and it's a shame that it didn't get the recognition it deserved. I loved this deleted scene and I would love (even more) to see an extended cut of this highly-underrated gem of a movie.

I think the movie was great. It had its flaws but it wasnt by any means what the critics made it to be. Actually I felt like most of them just hated on videogame movies in general.
I expected less to be honest. The Orc-storyarc as well as the CGI to bring them to life was awesome. The world itself was amazing. However they only scratched the surface of what could be really a new fantasy franchise that does not stop after 3 movies because of a told story (like LOTR). I am really looking forward for sequels that raise the bar in terms of character development (human side) and more getting into the world.

I think I read somewhere that the studio intervened and that the movie might have been better if they would have given Jones the opportunity to bring his vision to life. I liked Travis Fimmel in it a lot by the way. He wasnt the Lothar from the books, but still very charismatic, in his own way.

I might occur as a fanboy but I absolutley rated the movie from a neutral standpoint. I'd give it a solid 7/10 with lots of space for improvements. Maybe in the CG part as well. What I mean by that is what has been already mentioned: Blend more like they did in LOTR, so that it doesnt feel to Avatar-like. Although it catches the vibes of the games. But if it fails to deliver the $ it doesnt help at all, cause thats what the studio is about first and foremost.

Just one more thing. Several of my friends who saw the movie told me that they really liked it, although they never came in touch with the games or anything sourrounding it. So theres that. I cant stand the critics nowadays. They destroyed the box office in NA for this movie and maybe the fans hopes for sequels. I tell you, this movie was bashed way more than it deserved. It wasnt perfect but I'd never consider it a fail.

The Orc parts of this movie were great!

And the human parts are like a bad sci-fi TV movie.
