With Michael Fassbender earlier today confirming that Assassin's Creed will begin shooting next year, another of Ubisoft's video game to movie adaptations is gaining steam; the Michael Bay produced (and possibly directed) Ghost Recon. Read on for details!
Variety have revealed that Matthew Federman and Stephen Scaia - who are currently hard at work on the screenplay for Y: The Last Man's big screen adaptation - have been tapped by Ubisoft to pen the Michael Bay produced Ghost Recon movie. The Transformers: Age of Extiction director is developing the project in the hope of also helming it, so the team behind Ghost Recon have been on the hunt for writers ever since he first committed to the movie (as he has yet to find another project after the fourth instalment of the Transformers franchise is released next summer). Federman and Scaia have also worked on both Charlie's Angels and Human Target. The video game series, "revolve around a fictional unit of the U.S. Army Special Forces that essentially operates as the President’s private army, using the latest technology to infiltrate and take down threats around the world without leaving any traces behind that they exist."
