There are still conflicting reports about whether or not Patty Jenkins will return to direct the Wonder Woman sequel but with box office numbers like these, you'd best believe Warner Bros. will be throwing plenty of money at the filmmaker to return. The latest figures are in and after making an impressive $15.6 million at the North American box office and $13.6 million overseas, it's now reached $700 million worldwide! This makes it the third biggest DC Films Universe release to date right now.

With a total of $708,444,475, it's clear that Warner Bros. has a hit on its hands here and that this is one franchise they won't waste time getting another instalment out for in the very near future. 2019?

We'll just have to wait and see, but with box office analysts predicting a final haul of $750 million, Wonder Woman won't be too far behind either Suicide Squad or Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, two movies featuring bigger stars and characters far more popular among moviegoers and fans.

How many times did you see Wonder Woman? Are you excited to see it overperform like this? As always, let us know your thoughts on this latest box office update in the comments section below.
