It looks like Justice League is going to turn out to be a disappointment at the box office, and a new rumour has emerged which suggests that WB may end up shifting focus to a "Wonder Woman universe"...
Justice League's negative critical reception wasn't really that much of a surprise, but it's lacklustre performance at the box office (so far) will be a shock for many - Warner Bros., in particular.

Amid these disappointing figures, there's been a lot of speculation as to how the studio will respond, and a new rumor suggests that the franchise may pivot towards the one character that's come in for near-unanimous praise.
Here's an excerpt from The Ankler's report (via The Playlist):
There's all sorts of scuttlebutt about the way forward for DC post-League: that Whedon's Batgirl is...unthinkable at this point; that they'll now turn the whole thing over to James Wan if Aquaman goes well; that they might just make it a Wonder Woman universe. There are wheels within wheels within wheels in every turn of the Warners studio this week and we'll see where it all lands soon enough. Or more likely, not soon enough."
The majority of critics and fans alike loved Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman movie and Gal Gadot's Diana is being hailed as the standout of the Justice League ensemble, so it does make sense that WB may be considering doing something like this.
The confidence in Wan is also expected, as the director's series of horror movies have been very lucrative for the studio.
