Michelle MacLaren Emerges As Frontrunner To Helm WONDER WOMAN
We've been hearing that Warner Bros. are keen on hiring a female director for 2017's Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot, but it has now been revealed that Emmy winner Michelle MacLaren (Breaking Bad) is indeed the frontrunner. That's not the full story though, so read on for details...
TV director Michelle MacLaren is the frontrunner to helm Wonder Woman for Warner Bros. reports The Wrap. Though it doesn't sound as if she's in talks just yet, the director - whose credits include Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and The Walking Dead - is the studios top choice. The site goes on to reveal that, "There are several other directors in contention — not all of whom are female — but MacLaren has earned a spot at the top of WB's list thanks to her strong track record working in television." Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter reveals that, "sources say MacLaren has had several meetings with the studio regarding the project." Based on the fact that all of the trades are running with this story, it appears as if we may now know who will helm this released! Starring Gal Gadot (who bring the character to the big screen for the first time in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Wonder Woman is set to be released in 2017 ahead of Zack Snyder's Justice League.
