Possible Details On Who Pedro Pascal Will Play In WONDER WOMAN 2; Will Chris Pine Return As Steve Trevor?

Last night, we learned that Game of Thrones alum Pedro Pascal has joined the cast of Wonder Woman 2 but who could he be playing? Oh, and will Chris Pine's Steve Trevor be making a return of some sort?

It's thought that Wonder Woman 2 will take place during the Cold War, an interesting setting but not one fans hoping to see Diana Prince's present-day adventures are massively psyched about. Regardless, the cast is slowly starting to come together with Kristen Wiig set to play Cheetah and Pedro Pascal cast as...well, we don't know! However, The Tracking Board may have already shed some light on that.

Apparently, Pascal is quite likely playing "a slippery conman known in the script as Rex." He's the only character in there who could be described as a lead and Warner Bros. was apparently keen on making a diverse hire for the role. The sequel is also going to feature "an intimidating American businessman" but the site points out that it's unlikely the actor would be given such a minor part to play in the movie.

So, who is Rex? Looking at the comic books, it could be Rex Mason (who later becomes Metamorpho) or Rex Tyler (better known as Hourman). There are quite a few characters named Rex in the DC Universe, though, so we'll have to wait and see. As for Chris Pine's Steve Trevor, it's mentioned that the actor has a sequel option and insiders are cagey about what exactly he'll be getting up to this summer.

It's easy to imagine him making a cameo appearance of some sort but time will tell on that front. What do you guys think? As always, be sure to weigh in with your thoughts in the comments section below.

If Steve Trevor returns, the parallels to the Captain America films will continue...

Chris Pine was fantastic as Steve. As much as i want him back, he needs to stay dead so his sacrifice will have meaning and not be in-vein

@HeavyMetal4Life - he truly did. he was the best part of the movie, imo. gave Diana a sense of what men could be, and not what she was told to believe

@MotherGooseUPus - Oh I totally agree, if it wasn't for him it would have been hard to get through the film. To me, he was the real hero of the film. [thanks for a gif from my favorite film :-) ]

I just can't get excited for anything connected to this universe anymore.

Pity.
