WONDER WOMAN 1984 Picks Up Two Razzie Nominations, Including Worst Supporting Actress For Kristen Wiig

The annual Razzie Award nominations have been announced, and Wonder Woman 1984 picked up noms in two categories, including (very harshly, we think) Worst Supporting Actress for Kristen Wiig as Cheetah...

It's that time of year again, when the Razzie Award nominations celebrate the very worst that Hollywood has to offer.

This year, Wonder Woman 1984 picked up two nominations. This isn't particularly surprising given the decidedly mixed reactions from fans and critics alike, but it is a little shocking that Kristen Wiig - who was widely regarded as one of the highlights of the movie - was nominated for Worst Supporting Actress for her performance as Barbara Minerva/Cheetah.

Patty Jenkins' DC Comics sequel was also nominated for Worst Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel.

The rest of the "honored" releases are more predictable, with Robert Downey Jr.'s panned Dolittle, Sia's Music, and the much-maligned Hillbilly Elegy picking up nominations in several categories.

Not deserving of Razzie noms to be honest but it wasn't very good either.

@KingLeonidas - @BlackBeltJones @aresww3 - yeah. no way she deserved a razzie. she was quite good in the second half of the movie. If the film deserved a Razzie it was for Patty. None of the actors did.

Gosh darn do I hate The Razzies. Slim pickings either wat this year, but there nominations are generally so stupid and nonsensical (with some well deserved thrown in).

@MosquitoFarmer - what do you think of them going back to "so bad it's good" movies? I think it'd be fun putting the focus on movies from small indie projects that get attention they otherwise wouldn't. Every year could give us more success stories like "the room". Just think that'd be more engaging than reminding us with the fact transformers sucks for the billionth time.

@Origame - If they went the route with intention of their nominations as "so bad it's good" I think the event would be a lot more fun. Way more fun. Even if the nominations were the same as the ones they have this year, as long as the implication was all in good fun, I wouldn't have an issue. They seem to just be having fun, but their choices of nominees and the seemingly pop culture response/reasons for choosing them just bugs me on a yearly basis.

From the people who nominated Shelly Duvall for Worst Actress in The Shining...

Lol this is just for publicity pretty obviously. They know fanboys would eat this shit up, either hating on it or loving it

@DannRamm113 - didn't Kubrick also get a nomination for the shining as well? I do know the shining got a lot there and the people behind it apparently hate the man.
