Wonder Woman 1984 star Gal Gadot hasn't really been able to stretch her villainous muscles over the course of her career, but she will have the opportunity to do just that in Disney's live-action adaptation of Snow White.
The highly in-demand actress, who will next be seen in Netflix's action comedy Red Notice, is in final negotiations to play the Evil Queen in the Mouse House's latest reimagining of one of their classic animated features. She will join Shazam! Fury of The Gods and Westside Story's Rachel Zegler as the titular princess.
Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man movies, Gifted) will helm the project, while The Girl on the Train screenwriter Erin Cressida Wilson penned the script. This latest take on the legendary tale is expected to "expand upon the story and music from the 1938 animated classic," with La La Land duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul enlisted to write new songs for the movie.
There have been several different adaptations of the Brothers Grimm fairytale over the years, the most recent being 2012's Snow White and The Huntsman starring Kristen Stewart as Snow White and Charlize Theron as The Queen.
No word on when production is expected to get underway, but Gadot has several other projects in the pipeline, including Patty Jenkins' ambitious Cleopatra movie.
