Wonder Woman has now crossed the $600 million mark at the global box office, and Patty Jenkins' critically acclaimed first solo outing for the iconic DC heroine is poised to break yet another record before the weekend is out.
Though Wonder Woman still has a long way to go to become the highest-grossing title overall by a female director (that honor goes to Disney and Jennifer Lee's animated behemoth, Frozen, with $1.27 billion), it will soon pass Phyllida Lloyd's Mamma Mia! ($609.8M) to stake its claim as the most profitable live-action feature.
Jenkins' film is already the highest-grossing female-helmed flick stateside, beating Betty Thomas’ Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel ($219.6M) and Catherine Hardwicke’s Twilight ($192.7M).
We'll expect that sequel announcement any day now, Warner Bros.
