WONDER WOMAN Star Gal Gadot To Play The Evil Queen In Disney's Live-Action SNOW WHITE

“Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who is fairest of them all?”

Wonder Woman 1984 star Gal Gadot hasn't really been able to stretch her villainous muscles over the course of her career, but she will have the opportunity to do just that in Disney's live-action adaptation of Snow White.

The highly in-demand actress, who will next be seen in Netflix's action comedy Red Notice, is in final negotiations to play the Evil Queen in the Mouse House's latest reimagining of one of their classic animated features. She will join Shazam! Fury of The Gods and Westside Story's Rachel Zegler as the titular princess.

Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man movies, Gifted) will helm the project, while The Girl on the Train screenwriter Erin Cressida Wilson penned the script. This latest take on the legendary tale is expected to "expand upon the story and music from the 1938 animated classic," with La La Land duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul enlisted to write new songs for the movie.

There have been several different adaptations of the Brothers Grimm fairytale over the years, the most recent being 2012's Snow White and The Huntsman starring Kristen Stewart as Snow White and Charlize Theron as The Queen.

No word on when production is expected to get underway, but Gadot has several other projects in the pipeline, including Patty Jenkins' ambitious Cleopatra movie.

Just got out of Eternals and...honestly?

I actually liked it.

Far from MCU's worst movie and it sure as hell won't win Best Picture but f*ck it, i'm glad they ditched the FORMULAH, they sure took some swings with their twists.
On one hand, bravo, on the other? Ehhh it didn't properly land tbh, like without going in the spoiler territory, let's just say that they kinda screwed themselves with the figure of a proper villain...or lack of it.

I think this is a good of an example as any to prove that they didn't follow the usual modus operandi, not just in terms of Marvel movies but capeshit movies in general.
Visuals were great, OST not so much, could barely hear Ramin here ffs.
It IS kind of a drag tho, i really felt the weight of those 2hr and half.

Imma sucker for esoterism shit and it was barely there, left the screening wanting for more, thought i would get some answers, a better understanding of how they would move forward, thought they would set the stage for mutants or at least the X-gene but alas...
and even the origin of the MCU is mentioned quite randomly.

Very standalonish tho, at times it doesn't even seem to be part of the MCU, just a picture made by some other studios that wants to play with their own superheroes.
Won't even bother talking about comicbook fidelity, lel.

There are lots of other things that clicked with me and are kind of hard to describe but all in all, i don't think it deserve to be rotten but what the hell, critics have made it absolutely clear that they have no interest in other kinds of CBMS, they'll sure praise shit like Birds of Prey or Captain Carol tho.

The absolute state....

Anyway, i hope they will continue on this path, no need to pussyfoot.

@Doomsday8888 - Would you recommend seeing it in theatre, or is it okay to wait. With my film class and everything I haven't gotten tickets yet?

@Doomsday8888 - Thank you for sharing such a fair and thoughtful review. I have tickets to see it tomorrow night and being an extremely obsessive MCU fan, I'll probably enjoy it regardless. I'm just going to try to remind myself it's something new and different.

I'm mostly a theatre kind of guy and dayum...if there is one MCU movie were visuals are worh a f*ck it's this one. :P

Just keep in mind that it has a long runtime, it's not full of action and it ain't fast paced.

@Skestra
Don't mention it! :)

Won’t be a hard sell, honestly. All she’s gotta do is put on her old IDF uniform and BAM! Instant fascist overlord.

@Oberlin4Prez - I’d happily tell you about the documented abuse and straight up Apartheid inflicted on the Palestinians. I’ll also happily discuss the facts around the West Bank essentially operating as an open air prison. Perhaps I’ll also direct you towards how the state encourages far right, ultra nationalist Zionists who very openly and specifically call for the outright stealing of traditionally Palestinian lands,

But sure, try to paint the Israeli’s as victims. You can take your time, it must be hard to speak while licking Boots so hard.

It's always easy to look at the failures of a Nation and paint them as the all time villains.

It's also easy to assume that the worst elements of a country are part of the general attitude, or the intended outcome of a situation.

To pretend that Israel gets some sick pleasure out of the problems within the region is laughable at best, and speaks to a larger antisemitic issue that the problem with the world is the Jews.

So please, continue to list off all the bad things, while ignoring the animosity they face on all sides. Turns out there's usually two sides to a conflict and humanity is historically complex.

@ElvenKingSlayer - true, but seriously if it werent for his movies, these stories would probably be 90% less remembered.

Especially considering a lot of the iconic aspects come from the disney versions
