Sentinels made their debut in 1965, X-Men #14. They were created by Bolivar Trask, a man that believed mutants, with their superior powers, would end up conquering the human race, eventually enslaving them. To prevent that he built Sentinels, giant robots with autonomy and self-consciousness. To help churn out these bad boys Bolivar built "Master Mold," a giant Sentinel-shaped factory, that manufactured Sentinels. At some point the Sentinels become too powerful and Trask has a change of heart, so he sacrifices himself to put an end to his creation.
