During Friday's Disney+ Day celebrations, the streaming service announced that X-Men: The Animated Series will be back as X-Men '97. We're getting a mixture of new and returning cast members, with Jubilee actress Alyson Court among those set to lend their voices to the animated series. 

However, Court will not play Jubilee. She confirmed as much during an exchange with fans on Twitter, and while we don't know who the actress has been cast as in the revival, here's hoping it's a meaty role. 

Court has previously said she would prefer an Asian actress was brought in to bring Jubilation Lee to life in any sort of X-Men: The Animated Series return, and we're guessing new addition to the show, Holly Chou, will pick up where she left off. Chou is best known for roles in The Blacklist and Younger.

Will probably ruffle some feathers around here, but this is the best choice. It keeps Alyson Court in the family while giving Jubilee an actual Asian or Asian-Amrrican actor. Wouldn't it be hilarious if she voiced Kitty Pryde, who never appeared in the 90s show!

@DalekCraigWasson - That would be ironic. It actually might be cool if it revealed that the whole reason she wasn’t seen on the show (in-story) was because she was off on adventures with another X-team she’s very well-associated with: Excalibur!

@FlixMentallo21 - That would be awesome! Captain Britain made some cameos on the old show and we know Nightcrawler's voice actor is at least coming back (although this shows not everyone from the old show will be returning as their original role, though I would guess this is a special case). Something like Captain Britain, Nightcrawler, Kitty, maybe Rachel Sunmers since the 90s show never strayed from incorporating the wackiest comic stuff?

@DalekCraigWasson - Not that Rachel IS a wacky character but the idea of introducing another possible Summers child from the future after already doing Cable. In the old show, it was shown that Cable's parents were Scott and Jean when Jean reads Cable's mind but it is also ambiguous whether it is really Jean or Madelyn, who one of the producers did say was a possible character they could have introduced.

I don’t believe I liked the character that much because she was so bratty. Ahsoka Tano was bratty too but eventually evolved into such a great character and I’ve always thought that if they did bring this series back that they would do the same. Too bad Court will not reprise the role.

@Chrome - That show is super underrated. Felt more like classic Star Trek than typical action/superhero cartoon and I loved the Kirby inspired art-style.

@bobevanz - Spider-Man TAS had pretty definitive ending though. Kingpin, the show's main villain, had been defeated, Spidey saved the whole multiverse, met his creator and was about to bring MJ home. A 20 minutes long reunion special maybe could be done, but not a full revival.
