Despite his character's catchphrase being “I’m the best there is at what I do, but what I do isn’t very nice,” Hugh Jackman is actually very nice. Not only did Hugh Jackman treat his co-stars and director Bryan Singer with a showing of the new movie
The Butler, he also made a huge donation of ten grand to the Montreal Children’s Hospital. Jackman’s wife Deborra-Lee Furness was actually going to make the donation online, but she had trouble with the submission form, so she wound up calling the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation. She wound up donating $10,000 on behalf of her, her husband, and the cast and crew of X-Men. Kim Fraser, a spokeswoman for the hospital foundation, says the Australian star and his wife made the online donation to the hospital on Tuesday. Fraser said Jackman's wife called the foundation and was helped to complete the donation.
We're absolutely thrilled, Fraser said, noting that Jackman is known for philanthropic gestures elsewhere.
It's so generous. It came out of the blue.
But that's not all he did. Along with making this huge donation and taking his fellow cast members and director out for a movie, Jackman also stopped by a Montreal pie shop, TA Pies, and bought a bunch of their authentic Australian pies for the cast and crew of the movie. Jackman then tweeted an instagram pic with the owners and called their product "the best meat pies in the world."
