Speaking with Yahoo Movies, four-time X-Men director Bryan Singer has confirmed that there are plans afoot for a crossover with Fantastic Four.  “Those ideas are in play,” he says. “That would be a natural match-up because they’re both ensemble films and there is a natural mechanism by which to do it.” Since the new Fantastic Four movie is set to deal with interdimensional travel, it's safe to assume this is the "natural mechanism" he's speaking of.

"It deals with time," Singer finishes. "That's all I'm going to say."

The only reason people want F4 back at Marvel is so Doctor Doom and Galactus can fight fight the Avengers.

Ugh. This is terrible news. Those two franchises don't lend themselves to a cross over. No one's favorite comic was that one that the FF crossed over with X-Men characters. This is so lame and desperate on FOX's part. Let's throw together what remaining properties we have in hopes of rivaling Marvel and DC.

Pathetic.

All the haters can take a long cool sip from my balls cuz I really like the look of FF and I love what has been done with X-men. I feel like now we're on the right track after DOFP and I'm hopeful that a crossover would be hella tight. If you don't like it that's cool, go over there and watch your movies and know that your opinion on how movies are made makes the same amount of difference as your opinion on nuclear proliferation.

@MexicanSuperman, I imagine a world with two CBM universes. The MCU and the DCEU and no crappy FoX-Verse garbage. FOX and Singer is living in the past and still trying to spoon feed fans the idea that comics can't be adapted faithfully - that changes have to be made. Meanwhile Deadpool looks like the most glorious Marvel movie FOX has ever made.

NO ONE. and I repeat NO ONE goes to bed thinking "man I wish the X-Men would crossover with the FF." Just like NO ONE was wanting the FF to rebooted. FOX is trying so desperately to hold on to it's Marvel properties that it's giving people movies that they don't want.

X-Men has been on a roll with First Class, The Wolverine and Days of Future Past....I don't want to see them getting mixed up with that Fant4stic garbage.

FOX is at the bottom of the food chain now but somehow they have the delusion that they're still a top predator. What a joke.

Then it's a good thing that Mark Millar literally just said that they are NOT crossing over. Please READ the article before you start complaining.

Singer Quote: "It deals with time"...As in patience is a virtue or in time it will happen. Should deal with "space" as a plotpoint.

Millar Quote: "They exist in the same universe but movies stand alone" O-O
Dang it, I was loving the inter-dimensional cross-over.

@JoeMomma29, I don't give a shit about the FF rights. I just wish FOX would stop making crappy CB adaptations and flooding the market with their garbage.

@HailHydra

Well Fox was a sort of joke but lately they have been on a role..... and their line up is shaping up to be good in my opinion!

1. X Men AofA

2. F4

3. Wolverine 3 or is it 2......?

4. Deadpool

5. Gambit

@HAILHYDRA

How are they at all beneath DC who had one movie in their cinematic universe which underperformed in their eyes as they wanted it to make a billion dollars and was divisive as [frick] (I still really like it personally). Where as Fox has X2, DOFP, The Wolverine and First Class, all of which are pretty good & great movies in their own right.

Also, they have delusions that they're at the top? Did you sit at one of their meetings or are you just saying that them marketing their movies, which any studio with a functioning brain does when they want to make a money off a film is them being delusional?

Figured this would be happening sooner or later. I'm not too excited about because X-men & FF dont have too many crossovers in the comics that dont involve the Avengers in some capacity. I remember a Franklin Richards story about him coming from the future, and being married to Rachel Summers. I doubt they do that story this early.

Fantastic four are a, no pun intended, fantastical and somewhat out there team. If you read the comics, they're quirky and fun. Like the incredibles. They face the weird, bizarre and extraordinary. It's hard for them to be dark and grounded. That's why they'd work well in the MCU. MCU embraces the comicbooky atmosphere and meshes it well with a slightly grounded real world tone. Every hero doesn't work perfect when grounded I'm gritty realism.

"For fans across the board hoping for 20th Century Fox's Fantastic Four movie to bomb and revert back to Marvel Studios, this is disappointing news. However, there is still hope! If we as fans choose not to see this movie in theaters, there is still a chance that this whole comic irreverance will end in a Green Lantern scenario, and possibly even nudge Fox into making a deal with Marvel."

Hmmmmmm Starjammers would be awesome and so would Shi'ar but I am pretty sure those properties will never see light of day.
