(Spoilers Ahead). Hello everyone and what a great ending of the year this is. We are being treated to so much great news regarding comic book films and glimpses into the future ahead. One of the recent bigger announcements was Bryan Singer's return to the X-Men franchise once again in X-Men: Apocalypse which is slated to be released in 2016. Another huge announcement that has recently come also is how the latest X-Men film, Days of Future Past, while tie into the movie altogether. This is where the fire has begun to rise among all the fans.

In my opinion it seems as much a brilliant idea to introduce one of the X-Men's greatest villains. For once it would be hard to explain the entire essence of Apocalypse on the screen so it is a more simplified version. Also knowing his back story heavily involves ancient history itself. The question many people have asked is why does Apocalypse want to merge with Magneto and especially the one of the past. For starters I looked upon the line Apocalypse speaks where he mentions, "Rivers of time". This is where it heavily hints the character of Apocalypse has a real connection to the character of Magneto. "I am your future", is the line Apocalypse speaks next. It is now clear Magneto is the exact embodiment of what Apocalypse is. Speaking out of terms towards the character of Apocalypse in the comics, the word is a translation of the phrase "destruction". Apocalypse being an ancient being wouldn't have enough energy in realistic terms to subdue himself against the world for his powers to be on full limits. Magneto however craves the power being the man he is. Apocalypse was searching for his energy to become him, a more powerful being.

In the comics before Apocalypse has merged with Cyclops due to his physical form being drowned from the amount of energy he controls. As he needed a host to hold that amount of power. Which is what Magneto is now. Apocalypse saw into Magneto's future. Apocalypse in his own physical form would be too complicated to handle. His own presence alone would be too great for the Earth to handle in a capacity. So again this is on the scale of realism to make it seem more out there. This is only a spiritual version in tune with what he is. I can't wait for X-Men: Apocalypse. This is the right way to handle a villain of this magnitude. Voice your opinions down in the comments below and have a great day!

I'm with BANE5000, Apocalypse has to be done justice. Some random appearance in which we don't learn his name and he just joins to Magneto is bullshit.

Apocalypse is not an evil spirit having him possess Magneto is such a waste of his awesomeness. If you want to have someone get possessed have Charles Xavier possessed by the Shadow King or something along those lines since that is Shadow King's whole identity possessing and controlling people.

I want Djimon Hounsou to play En Sabah Nur, and I want him to channel Yul Brynner with every line - "I am as far beyond mutants as they are beyond you. I am ETERNAL!"

I am still a little let down with Iron Man 3's presentation of a great villian so I am a firm believer of going all or nothing on major foes like this. Don't get me wrong, I loved IM3 but I would've liked to see a more traditional Mandarin. It's the same thing here really. I want the Apocalypse that I've read in the past. I want him to be known how the Joker is or how Loki is! Not just a plot device in an after credits scene!

The studio heads at Fox must love DOFP, they've made it one of their most expensive films and now they've green-lit the sequel. But then again Singer thought he would get a sequel to Superman Returns, another film he ballooned the budget.

Heck no! Are u drinkin the Fox KoolAid too? Justifying a plot that is not even 100% true yet. And trying to water down a colossal villain like Apocalypse to make him fit into Fox's bootleg X-men incarnation? Let Apocalypse be Apocalypse! The baddest of them all. What are you talking about "seeing into Magneto's future?" So now he has psychic powers? "Spiritual version in tune with what he is".?? What are you talking about? How about this, let him be En Sabah Nur, the Apocalypse. Let him be over 1000's of years old, a mutant with full control of his molecular structure, let him be Apocalypse from the comics or not at all. He should not be a pez dispenser with Apocalypse's face on top, not a lint ball that smells and sounds like Apocalypse, not a magic genie Apocalypse that grants Magneto 3 wishes or any other cheesy Fox abomination.

I say that scene is Magneto being turned into one of the four horsemen.

I said the same thing. Apoc for the most part doesn't just come on and wreck shop. He gives people power boost and uses them to do his dirty work. You probably won't see the full extent of his power until the final battle.

Pyschomanicjacky you apparently do not know the history of Apocalypse and what he can do. He was the very first mutant who was a powerful being before he merged with the celestial technology. Here is a list of his powers.

Superhuman Strength: Apocalypse possesses superhuman strength that he can further increase by drawing upon outside energy sources; Apocalypse has shown to be strong enough to physically restrain the Hulk while the Hulk was in an enraged state. Hence, Apocalypse is capable of lifting far in excess of 100 tons.

Superhuman Stamina
Invulnerability
Flight: kinetic use.
Teleportation

Bio-Molecular Alteration: Apocalypse has total control over the molecular structure of his body and can alter it at will. This means that matter manipulation has no effect on him, and can adapt his molecular structure to any adversity

Malleable Form: Apocalypse's entire body can be reshaped at will. He can alter his appearance, allow his body to become extremely malleable, maintain his full dexterity, and elongate his body or limbs.

Size Alteration

Physical Superhuman powers: Through this ability to alter his form, Apocalypse can give himself virtually any physical superhuman power, as he can transform his arms and fists into various melee weapons.

Transmutation
Energy Generation
Energy Absorption
Superhuman Speed
Create Force-Fields
Energy Projection
Telekinesis
Virtual Immortality
Retarded Aging
genius intellect

And the story arc where he takes over cyclops is where he combined the powers of the 12 most powerful mutants on the planet in addition to his powers. Apocalypse doesn't need to possess ANYBODY's body. He is basically the Thanos of the X-men. People are sick of Fox messing with the origins of these characters and acting like magneto is the only powerful villain the X-men have.

I like the old name better, Jacky.

On another note completely, I would be cool with magneto as a horseman. That would make Apoc like Thanos, and the stones are the horsemen. As long as they have to take on badass comic book Apoc at the end.
